The place looks cool but it's actually pretty bad.
The window in my room had no curtain so light would come in night and early morning -- and the manager refused to help. Loud music throughout the day. No hot water. The bed was hard as rock and chair in the room was disgusting with stains. I placed a towel on it so I could sit on it.
The location was great!
Ck in with young lady took a long time, and we had 3 rooms, and she put us all in one BIG room, which was ok for only one night. Hunter and Luis went the extra mile when we had to leave VERY early and fed us breakfast.
Location is amazing.

Great location, helpful staff, but air conditioner was inadequate for the daytime temperatures.
I would only stay here if you need to stay in El Centro and no other place in the area is available. They didn’t have the bed I reserved, but I didn’t feel like finding another place, so they sold me on a private room. It was overpriced for what it was. Overall the dirtiest hostel I’ve stayed at in Mexico. It was currently undergoing renovations it seems, but the bathrooms were gross with a constantly leaking toilet and only a curtain for stalls.
The WiFi didn’t seem to work well anywhere in the hostel.
No one there speaks English, so you had better know at least some Spanish.
Excellent location, right in the middle of everything. Cool building. Currently under construction, but still cozy and comfortable.

A great place to stay... after 2019. Maybe.
the location is ideal. And two of the ladies that work there, Julisa and Patricia, are really nice. But...the guy at the reception couldn't or wouldn't find my reservation on the computer and wanted to charge me about a thousand pesos more for the same accommodations. I show him the hostels.com price and he had to reevaluate his price. The place is nice but it is been remodeled and there was noise, dust, paint cans, and none of this was mentioned before hand. My biggest disappointment was the restrooms. I have seen better facilities at low end bus stations in Mexico. You can tell right away that a worker designed the place and that the architect built it. Would I recommend the place... yes but not right now. Wait until is finished, the bathroom redone, and someone else is at the reception, then it will be a great place to stay.

I thought opting for a historic hostal by the plaza mayor would be a great entry to Merida and the Yucatan. WRONG: 1) the staircase was a steep ascent with dubious hand rail broken at the start; 2) remodeling caused tiles, buckets, toilets, etc to line walkways to the rooms and bathrooms; 3) price went from 600 pesos on Orbitz for a private AC room to 700 pesos for a fan room with shared bathroom, basically a private dorm room with 3 beds by the street; 4) nonstop noise as it's above a convenience store and the trucks came by at all hours to restock the store; 5) breakfast was descent, omelette and fruits, waffle mix was empty eventhough we were there by 8:30AM; 6) my hubby went to the bathroom and found a roach in his shoe! Yuck. Overall, NEVER again! Plenty of other places charging 700 pesos or less a night with far better rooms and appeal. So very disappointed Orbitz allowed this place on their list. Sub-standard!
The Hostel is located near the central plaza. It’s within walking distance to many bars, restaurants, and the CAME bus terminal. The staff is friendly. Breakfast is delicious and offers an excellent opportunity to meet other travelers. I would highly recommend this place
Amazing location right in front of plaza grande where there was always something happening.the room was quiet and the bathroom was clean.it probably has the best breakfast I have had in a hostel :)

Great Location
Located just across the street from the main Square. Great breakfast - eggs, fruit, cereal, bread, coffee. Undergoing renovation so a bit messy. Great staff. Good vibe. Can be noisy with guests talking, etc. in the common areas until about 11 pm. A little shabby but acceptable given the price, location, and breakfast.
La ubicación y el personal son un 10 y el edificio tuvo que ser maravilloso en el pasado. En la actualidad, es triste ver lo descuidado que está el edificio, aunque tiene mucho encanto ver cómo lo han convertido en una pequeña galería de arte.
