The owner, Raul, takes the hospitality shown to each guest very personally, and both he and his staff made us feel less like guests and more like family. I don't believe we've had a better experience at any property. I give this 5 stars because six is not available.

If you’re looking for a very unique stay in Mérida stay here. It is an old mansion turned into a hotel with only 16 rooms. The property is still owned by the original family. Every employee we ran into was so nice and attentive. Ivan checked us in and we felt like royalty. Raul is the owner and is very present and visits with all the guest to make sure their stay is going great. The location is amazing and walking distance to everything you would need or want. The beds were super comfortable and we slept great every night. Thank you guys for a great experience!

Every thing about hotel was a first class experience. The room furnishings, the meals and especially the caring and competent staff. Couldn’t have been treated better if we were royalty. The lobby, the atrium where breakfast was served and the pool area were beautiful and lavishly decorated with flowers and plants. The breakfast offerings were numerous and each was delicious. Highly recommend it.

This hotel is a rare gem, radiating the elegance of a bygone era and lovingly maintained by the same family for generations. My wife and i stayed here for three nights, and it was like a dream. The hotel itself is gorgeous and located just a block from Merida's main plaza on its own little picturesque square. Service was excellent; everyone made us feel at home. I must also mention breakfast in the courtyard - one of the best dining experiences we had in a city that takes great (and well-deserved) pride in its cuisine. The huevos mansión may be the best variation of eggs benedict I've ever had.

My wife and I had a fabulous time staying at the Mansion Merida hotel boutique! The service is second to none, the food is superb, and the location is fantastic! The room is simply beautiful and well appointed! The entire grounds is a masterpiece of architecture! The owner visited at breakfast each day and knew us by name! If there was a rating higher than 5 star, I would give it! By far exceeded our expectations!

A gem of a place!
Everything above this stay was special, and that is quite a statement, given that on this trip we had stayed in another historical hotel in Mexico City and were coming to Mansion Merida from an exclusive luxury resort in Quintana Roo. This is quintessential Merida, the mansion is a part of the history of this iconic city. At 200 years old, and still owned by the original family, every nook is filled with luxury and history. The staff deserves 5 stars for the care and friendliness. Ivan at the reception was courteous, and helpful and saw to our comfort. It was better than having a personal conceirg. The staff of the restaurant was superb as well. Nothing can beat the breakfast in the courtyard with the fountain. We also had a lot of fun going thru the artifacts, photographs, paintings and a note, from Frida Kahlo herself, displayed in the lobby. The room was beautiful and sound proof and had a superb view of the street from the balcony. Neighborhood is safe and walkable. You are 3 min walk to the main square and some great local eateries and bars. I wish I had more days to spend here! What a way to end our trip to this beautiful country!

This is an absolutely marvelous hotel! If you’re traveling to Merida, which is a beautiful city, this is the place to stay! The property is old but they have maintained it very well so for me it was beautiful! I love that the hotel in the middle of Merida you have so many stores to shop at walking distance as well as restaurants. We were able to walk to the center park where people go to to take pictures. That was a huge plus for us because we were able to go site seeing and shop for our souvenirs without having to worry about transportation. The staff are so nice as well they truly go above and beyond for their clients. We are already planning to come back because there is so much we didn’t get a chance to see and because of our experience here we will be staying here once again.

This hotel is amazing, you go back in time to the beginning of the 20 century with all amenities of modern time; the staff is great, always ready to serve you and help you with whatever you need, the owner Mr. Raul is gracious and take care of you personally. I just feel to go back as soon as I can. One final thought, I like to take a walk early in the morning where I live in Miami, over there is was safe and fine.
