I loved the art, the courtyard, the location, and the amenities. The room needed more electrical outlets, and tile on the floor would have been nice since other rooms had it.

It was a really quite lace and a nice staff. Shower was a quite low pressure, but it was ok. I had a problem with my booking and they resolve so good!!
This place could easily be excellent but falls very short.
The water pressure was ridiculously low. On the sink you could barely brush your teeth.
The shower barely worked and the only one that was even remotely acceptable was far away from the room.
No electrical sockets near the bed. I mean nothing in a 4m radius and only one in the entire room for many bunk beds.
Decent media room.
AC in the room at night.
Maybe after the renovations are complete the place will be great but definitely not now.

Siesta Fiesta Friends Trip
Place as a lot of potential in a great area. We had a 2x dbl bed room and private bathroom which was fine but had a bit of a funky smell. The rest of the hostel area was very high quality e.g. pool and games area which will be great once completed. Place could have better wifi signal in the rooms but decent for the price!
Hostel common areas are gorgeous, but they were doing construction when we were there.
Pool, game room, TV room do not disappoint, but the "buffet" breakfast does. It was an option of a piece of fruit, a bowl of cereal, or 2 pieces of toast with coffee.
Room was very tight with 2 beds and a low ceiling and no privacy if we opened the window. Floor was dirty. Nice powerful fan, but we thought there was AC for some reason.
The staff were helpful and the breakfast was ok. The rest was disappointing to say the least. I had to ask for a locker, the locks on the door were a shambles and not secure. The toilet didn't work the first night. The shower pressure terrible and no hot water. The pool was broken and saving grace we could go to a pool in a near hotel. I left after 2 nights. It looks funky because of the setting and art but has nothing that I could otherwise say to recommend. I found a much better hostel and left.

An Art Adventure
Very nice friendly staff are helpful. Everything is old including numerous artifacts, paintings, quotes and antiques. Pool is cool but leaves are removed daily and could be inviting on a hot day. Kitchen has necessities, stove, fridge drinking water and dishes. This is our second time staying here for Music Fest.
A funky & friendly, low-cost hostel with private room options which makes it work for me. The common-use kitchen is a plus since I'm an early-riser. The bygone-era colonial architecture helps make it a very Merida experience.

the building was not in great condition, but the rooms were sufficient, no soundproofing at all, staff was friendly and helpful
I know it is a hostel and I wasn't expecting experiencing living in a Fourseason hotel but the room, bathroom and the whole place were very dirty to me. If you don't like having a battle with cockroaches ( I killed 3 ), low pressure shower in a dirty bathroom, low pressure flush, it is not your place. Wifi was very good in the room. The bed cleanliness was not very bad.
I love the set up and the art everywhere really makes it unique. I usually don't hang out around the hotel on vacation. But I couldn't resist just relaxing in a hammock in the courtyard. All the art is really awesome and gives the hostel much character. The staff was very helpful and is in an ideal location. Beds are comfortable. My room was hot at night but that is to be expected it is yucatan. Other than hot room was a perfect experience. Best hostel in merida.

nice hotel close to centro
nice place to stay arrived late at night checked out following day. suitable for my needs.
We had a great experience at the hotel. The staff was super friendly and the location is wonderful, walking distance from the major sites in downtown Merida and close to great restaurants, bars, and night life.
Impressive colonial building just in downtown. Very easy going staff, friendly and polite.
room very cozy.

Good Hostel
I got a room with double bed and bathroom. The room didn't have a lot of ventilation because the windows were small, I kept the fan going while I was in there. Nice pool. Free internet, drinking water and coffee in lobby. Building is old but still habitable. Staff was friendly, their English fluency varied. Location about 5 or 6 blocks from town center with lots of small parks and restaurants along the way. I felt safe walking along Calle 60 to center at night.
It is fine for the cheap price, and you always meet an interesting variety of travelers at a hostel. The staff will also arrange tours in the city or nearby ruins.

Recovered from our fatigue at Art Apart
We spent a very restful two nights in a surprisingly nice king-bed room, adorned with works of art and antiques, as was the rest of the very unique space this hotel occupies. We arrived exhaused and rested quite well in the peaceful environment. The unusual lobby area was not indicative of the quality room we would soon be led to.
We enjoyed all the eclectic arts that decorated the hotel and the courtyard that had a huge tree and it was filled with many different tropical plants. There was limited services, we had to ask for room service. The pool needs proper and regular attention. The biggest drawback is that the receptionist did not speak English. The Foyer has many interesting art pieces and it is a large space where one could relax, but this is not possible as the TV was blaring loudly.
