We received great personal service from Albert. He and Adelaide were always friendly and ready to help if needed and suggest sights that were worth seeing. I highly recommend this property. It’s about 10 to 15 minutes walk down to the beach (longer coming up again). Also about 5 minutes walk to the Circumvesuviana and it’s direct links to many tourist spots. Train service is sporadic but quick once it turns up. There is also a direct bus service to Naples Airport. The property itself is comfortable, roomy and there is a lovely garden. We feel we made an excellent choice in Villa Pollio.

Very convenient location to Meta train stop, Post office with ATM, grocery store and Covent Garden restaurant. Albert is a wonderful host and Adelaide is very helpful and keeps everything clean and supplies room with breakfast items each day. Both speak excellent English and give good advice on site seeing. Bed is Cal-King size and room is large and opens with double doors to private balcony. Private en-suite bathroom and kitchenette is nice. Very safe to walk around and easy to get to Pompeii and Sorrento in under 30 minutes. In room cable TV but all channels are in Italian. No laundry services.

Villa Pollio is an excellent place to stay for visiting Sorrento, Naples and all the historical sites as it situated about a quarter of a mile from the station. The rooms are very comfortable with a kitchen and bathroom. Albert is so helpful and will happily give one advice on trip.

Albert was a wonderful host and very helpful with information and suggestions. The room was clean and very nice overall. Nice little balcony to enjoy our wine and limoncello, which Albert was kind enough to give to my wife and I for our Anniversary. Hope to return!

Our stay in Meta
It was a great stay, the host made every attempt to make us feel welcome. There is not as much in Meta compared to Sorrento itself, but this place is extremely close to the train station and has some good food/grocery stores near it. We also had a lovely time sitting out on the balcony. The only area that could use improvement is the size of the shower, which is a tad bit cramped for a taller guy like myself.

Fantastic B&B with a difference...
Villa Pollio is a B&B with a difference. Your breakfast items are in your room for you to help yourself to and whatever runs out gets replaced. Fantastic Idea and works really well. Albert is the perfect host, nothing is too much trouble. Extremely knowledgeable about the whole area and can advise you about anything...!

This is a fantastic place to stay from the warm friendly welcome to the lovely clean rooms, Albert is the perfect host very friendly and helpful with advice of where to eat and how to get around, the train station is just a short distance from the guest house with sorrento just ten minutes away and Pompeii a 20 minute train ride and Herculaneum 40 minutes, we are looking forward to our next visit and stay at villa pollio

Quaint but fabulous
It was fabulous to receive an email from the owner after booking where they offered any assistance if required. It was great to be able to let them know our ETA and generally say 'hello'. I also received a Whatsapp message which was great as it meant that once arrived in Italy I could easily contact the hotel if the flight/train was delayed or got lost etc... Alberto was great on arrival and showed us our room. I was expecting one room but got two which was a very pleasant surprise with two separate beds (I was expecting to share a bed with a friend but we ended up having our own beds which was great), shower room, plus a kitchenette. The hotel was in a very convenient location about 5 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minute walk to the sea. It's a very quaint hotel but very clean and comfortable with a lovely view of hills from the balcony. Plus homemade Limoncello :). It was great to be slightly out of the town centre but so easy to get everywhere because of the train. I would not hesitate in recommending this place.

Excellent Hotel as a Base
As a solo traveller I found the hotel to be excellent as a base from which to visit all the places I had planned including Vesivius, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. Area of Meta was less hectic than nearby Sorrento which I found beneficial after sightseeing and more relaxing. I found the area to be very safe and Albert was available for advice and assistance when needed. I thoroughly enjoyed what was my very first solo trip and would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

Ideal location for Bay of Naples attractions
Very nice, clean accommodation. Spacious and well equipped rooms.Small kitchen area and dry breakfast items (croissants etc) stocked up in the room each day along with water in the fridge. We had rooms at the front with a balcony overlooking a fairly busy road, which although noisy, allowed us to be entertained in the evening watching the locals going about their business, even repairing a burst water main (twice). Albert the host was really nice and friendly and although we didn't need him for anything he was always available if there had been a problem or any information needed. The property felt very secure with locked gates outside and a safe in the room. Meta itself was a nice friendly place. Circumvesuviana was perhaps 3 or 4 minute walk away and Curreri airport bus stop around 10 mins. The public transport was very busy and we often had to stand which could be a problem for some though journey times were short. Very memorable holiday with lots to fill the days.

Ideal for friends travelling together
Villa Pollio was perfect for myself & a female friend travelling on a budget and ideally located for exploring the stunning Sorrento Amalfi coast. Having a separate kitchen, balcony and space to spread out became essential given the high temperatures in July. Sweltering! Air conditioning worked well in the bedroom though (room 3) and the premises and host very charming and informative with all the information on hand that you will need, nothing was too much to ask. So I wholeheartedly recommend this as a base whilst visiting Amalfi, you soon find your way around (calm & feels very safe at night) and Meta town has all you need whether it's good fresh Italian produce or a fine meal or tasty breakfast, refreshing ice cream. I didn't try one thing during our stay that wasn't delicious! All in all I give our stay 9/10. Ciao Italy I'll be back!!

Wonderful bed and breakfast
My daughter and I stayed at Villa Pollio for nine nights in June. The cleanliness of this charming and homey bed and breakfast was a ten. We saved a lot of money by eating breakfast here every morning and always had a fresh supply of water, juice, milk, pastries, cereal, jelly, and often fresh fruit grown from the garden as well. Alberto is a most attentive host of the bed and breakfast, always making sure we knew where to go for our day trips and helping with the planning. We loved the local restaurant on the beach named Tico Tico so much that we ate there twice. When wandering about the streets of Meta, we came upon a bakery that had the best cookies and also found a couple of wonderful pizzarias. Our trip was wonderful and we were sad to see it end. I would definitely stay at Villa Pollio for a future vacation and bring more family with us next time. We couldn't thank Alberto enough for the experience and Mary, the young woman who helps keep the place spotless.

Visit for a Sorrento wedding
Alberto made us feel very welcome, even when we got their late at night due to a delayed flight. Rooms were very spacious, and the kitchen area and air conditioning were a real bonus! Was in close proximity to the train which connects Sorrento and Napoli, and coach to the airport stops nearby too. Local beach is about 20 mins walk away and the very nice Covent Garden pub is very near :) Thank you Alberto! x

Train station five minutes away and bus stop in front of residence. Our room was excellent, with nice balcony to sit on overlooking the street. Only problem was traffic from early morning til late at night. Alberto was a wonderful host and we would stay here again.

Great B&B
We highly recommend Villa Pollio first of all because of its host – Alberto is kind, helpful and generous. Whenever you need him – he was there. He printed out our eTickets for us, supplied us with freshly picked cherries, oranges, and lemons, and even super-delicious lemonchello. We found at the villa everything we were looking for: nothing fancy, but all we needed – kitchenette, safe, WiFi, bathroom. Location is perfect: 3 minutes from Meta train station through underpath under the tracks, few steps to the grocery store down the street, 6 minutes by train to Sorrento and 30 min to Pompei, 15-20 min on foot to the beach and Tico-Tico Restaurant. Commute to Amalfi is easy from VP: bus stop is next to the train station, we bought a ticket for $8 from driver. The ticket is good for 24 hours, so since we left early we were able to visit Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello in one day – all for $8. Overall – great experience.

Great place to base near Sorrento
Villa Pollio is a great place to stay near Sorrento without the huge price tag attached. It was everything we needed. Great, clean room with private bathroom, breakfast supplied in the room, car parking, and only 2 minute walk to the train station. the personal touches were first class. Alberto kept in contact from the moment we booked. He supplied us with fresh oranges and lemons from his beautiful garden, and was always available if we needed anything. He even helped us book a tour when we had difficulty booking it because nobody could speak English. The girl who cleans and looks after the apartments (I think her name was Alissa?? Or something like that) was also lovely and extremely helpful. We would book this apartment again if we ever returned to the area. We would not hesitate in recommending Villa Pollio to anybody. Thank you Alberto for a lovely stay.

Best Option in Sorrentine Penisula
Wow, what an excellent experience we had staying at Villa Pollio. The BnB is only a few stops away on the local train from the hustle and bustle of busy Sorrento in the peaceful town of Meta! Plus the location of the BnB from the Meta stop is so convenient, a 1-5 minute walk. Albert, a local and the BnB owner is so accommodating and has plenty of knowledge and recommendations to make for the surrounding area. The accommadations are excellent, spotless, well kept with old Italian charm. The included breakfast is great for those who want to start the day with a quick meal at the villa consisting of espresso, coffee, fruit drinks, bottled water, croissants and much more. All of which are provided to you in your room and you prepare yourself. We also enjoyed great meals out at local places in Meta based on recommendations from Alberto. We originally planned to stay 3 days and ended up staying for an additional night because of how much we enjoyed our accommodations and the town of Meta. If you plan on visiting the Almafi coast and want to enjoy a small Italian town and avoid all the tourist this is a great option. The locals are so friendly and very welcoming and Albert runs an amazing business and is so kind! We hope to return to Meta and stay at Villa Pollio again!

Would go back any time
Great owners, great room, great home away from home. I was very happy to have a large room with my own kitchenette and balcony. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable. I travel led as a single female and this Villa was great, also less than a 5 minute walk from the train (exit the train station, turn right, and go down the stairs to the right. On the other side of the tunnel you will come up on an Italian Post Office, the B&B is right there. )

Great time in Villa Pollio
We stayed there for about a week and loved our stay. This is so close to the train station to Sorrento or Naples that you can leave 5 mins before the train departure time and still get there with a minute or two spare. B n B supplied sufficient quantity of sweet breads and cakes and fresh fruit from his little Orchard which we ate on and off but got our regular supply from local shop but you would be better off picking it from Sorrento super market. We had two brilliant/; clean double rooms for a family of 3 (youngest 6 years) and we had very comfortable stay. The only issue I had there was we were facing the road and it was next to impossible to sleep with window/ door opened when the day and night had been hot. There is a constant noise of mopeds and three wheelers and everything but still loved it. The landlord was very helpful and humble and helped us pick which bits to see and stuff. This is a very convenient location as train to Sorrento/ Naples takes only 4-5 minutes and are every half an hour or so most of the day. Good local restaurant near the beach and a pub nearby. We ate mostly in Sorrento on our way back most of the time but experimented once or twice with food in Meta and were not disappointed. Overall, I would love to go there again if I ever visit that part of Italy.
