Comfortable beds. Otherwise it’s old and dated. It’s perfect for seeing monument valley and so close to Forrest Gump pull off to take pics. You’ll get a wonderful good night sleep here.

Beautiful place by the river. Lots of tables and chairs outdoors to gather, eat, have a drink, etc. The only issue is that there are cockroaches outdoors at night. We had two rooms and we didn't see any inside. This place is in the middle of nowhere with lots of nature around it. Very difficult to prevent insects from wandering around the premises, so I'm not complaining but rather highlighting for those with phobias, etc...

The USB port in the lamp did not work so I had to buy a wall plug at the only store in town. Restaurant seemed to be out of a lot of things on an already limited menu. But everything else was fine. Beautiful location.

Our one-night stay at the San Juan Inn in Mexican Hat, Utah was disgusting and unacceptable. From the moment we arrived, guest safety and cleanliness were clearly not priorities. At 9:14 p.m., I got an email saying our room key would be left on the ground directly under the doorknob—yes, on the floor. Anyone could have picked one up and walked in. Their website claims 24-hour service with a night phone, but that was a lie. Instead, they left keys outside like a sketchy roadside motel. Inside, the room was filthy. Bugs were everywhere—on the bed, bathroom, floors, and windows. The bathroom window didn’t seal properly, so insects poured in all night. I woke up to a sink full of dead bugs. The shampoo and conditioner were in cheap, tamper-prone dispensers—completely unsanitary. There was no information about front desk hours, the restaurant, or Wi-Fi. It felt like the bare minimum was done to rent the room, with no care or respect for guests. The view was nice, and the woman who checked us out was sweet—one bright spot. But later, in the gift shop, an older woman was openly insulting a disabled vendor—completely inappropriate. The Native man in the restaurant was also rude and made us feel unwelcome. This place cuts corners everywhere and tolerates unprofessional behavior. I wouldn’t stay here again if they paid me, and I’d caution anyone considering it. The location may be scenic, but the operation is a total mess.
