We really enjoyed staying here. The staff was great and the included breakfast was lovely. You should definitely try their upstairs outdoor restaurant. The food was amazing.
We were fortunate to stay at Casa de la Luz for five nights. The hotel is located two blocks from the Zocalo and is within easy walking distance of some of the city’s best museums, restaurants, and shops. The hotel is small, spotless, and the rooms are extremely comfortable with large showers and nice, firm beds. Despite its small size, Casa de la Sol has two excellent restaurants. The restaurant on the first floor offers a complimentary breakfast to guests which includes lots of delicious choices from oatmeal with fruit to chilaquiles. The restaurant on the top floor, Texontle, offers gourmet food in a relaxed atmosphere. What really makes Casa de la Luz special are the people who work there. Heidi and the rest of the team were incredibly friendly and helpful whether we needed a cab, directions, or just another bottle of water. I highly recommend Casa de la Luz.
The service and hospitality of the staff is unmatched. They really made me feel at home. The location makes it so easy to visit so many landmarks as well and if I want to stay in, they have a wide range of food and beverage options available.
After reading so many glowing reviews, I was a little skeptical, especially at this price point. But after our recent stay I can confidently say that this hotel exceeded all expectations.
The space is historic, pretty, and thoughtfully curated, making it feel like a moderately high-end boutique experience at an incredibly reasonable price. The service was exceptional - every interaction was warm, professional, and genuinely helpful. The restaurants were fantastic, loved the complimentary breakfast. Our room didn’t have a window (opened into a courtyard) but the courtyard let in light and the lighting / high ceilings made it still feel very nice and airy.
My only note - the area immediately around the hotel feels a little rough in parts, but it’s nothing major, and we were able to walk everywhere with ease.
If you’re looking for an affordable, stylish, and welcoming stay in Mexico City, this place is a fantastic choice. We absolutely loved our time here and would return in a heartbeat!
A beautiful hotel! Spacious, comfortable and gorgeous inside. Restaurant on rooftop was outstanding! Breakfast each morning was delicious. Stayed 4 nights, only thing that could be better is the gym, cardio but no weights. Would definitely book another stay if we return.
Juan - one of the waiters was AMAZING! The hotel was lovely, and staff were warm and friendly. A couple issues: 1. I requested the shuttle to pick us up at the airport cost was 850 pesos...not a big deal. We requested the shuttle to take us back the cost was 550 pesos. What? 2. Staff called us Taxis, gave the taxi driver the address and we were dropped off at least 4 blocks away from the location.
