I had a fun time walking back home. I didn't necessarily have a good idea of the location. I thought it was 2 blocks away on my map. When I got driven over by a person I had met on zoom. I had met him at 888 Bisc. And I really liked him a lot. I remember him as someone I really liked. We got in touch again on Zoom through some other chat site first. The curious thing is that when we drove in the car it took longer to get there than walking because of the traffic. Lots of people in Wynwood. Lots of restaurants and vibrancy When I left the hotel it was like we were in a different region and much of everything was off. The weather got cold and the walk back home was much longer than expected or known. This was odd. It was as if I were in a different place. In some ways this is good for some sense of never walk home alone or I'm just thinking as confirmation of my entire story. Something brought me to a different moment and for some that may be wonderful. For me I feel now in mixed views although I would like to go back.

The staff at Arlo was very hospitable and there are great eats in walking distance of the hotel. Would definitely go back.

SAFETY ISSUES at this “Frat House”/Hotel
I checked out of the hotel to stay at another hotel 3 days into my stay. I requested to speak to a manager. The staff, including valet, seemed confused as to who I needed to speak to. I assured the front desk agent, she wasn’t the issue, but I did need to speak to a supervisor. I was told “none are on staff”. I don’t know about you, but I know who hires and fires where I am employed, also who I directly report to daily. No one seemed to know. While they do try to make it safe to get to your rooms with the elevator, anyone can get on once it opens. Thus, random men following me (single female traveler) towards my room. MAJOR ISSUE! Daily I would receive texts telling me about “DJ Randomname will be spinning tracks in whatever space at whatever time”. Somehow by booking this hotel I apparently pledged to the Arlo Fraternity House. I clearly chose poorly because this frat house has uncomfortable linens, worn out furniture, previous occupants hair in the shower, slow WiFi, incompetent staff due to poor leadership and, the worst part, this frat house that doubles as a “hotel”, isn’t hip, chill, cool and lacks a vibe. This hotel is for those who are desperately hoping to be seen in Miami — the fact is, this isn’t “the scene” you want to be seen in, fellow travelers. All and all, with better management and consistent leadership this “Holiday Inn Express with a DJ” (The Arlo) could actually be a retreat in an area filled with art, culture and plenty of entertainment (like DJs).

Great stay!
Our stay at Arlo was incredible. It is located in a great location within the Wynwood Art District, but close to Port Miami, South Beach and Downtown. Everything was close. The hotel itself was gorgeous. The Lobby, Room, Pool area were all gorgeous and the staff was amazing.

I loved this hotel overall, especially the front desk staff, location and design, but it was difficult to make use of some of the amenities due to limited hours. For example, the pool inexplicably closes at 6pm, which doesn’t give you much time. I did love that you get free admission to the nearby graffiti museum. Overall, a very nice stay.
