The lobby is a restaurant, usually crowded, that they charge you just a dollar or two less to eat at for staying there. Theres no amenities other than a beach chair and towel. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and its right in front of the beach. However, dont expect more than just a room to sleep in.

Amazing stay! Great view. Staff was so pleasant and accommodating! They offered complementary bottled water and coffee and tea. The staff was great. I had left my rings after check out and the amazing housekeeping manager, Reinaldo Fuentes, was honest and gracious enough to turn them in. They mailed them to me quickly! I am so grateful ! Would definitely stay again! 10/10.

I loved staying at the Avalon because the staff made me feel like I was a family member. The hotel itself is clean, and has been updated. However, the shower head in the bathroom is ancient and you hear pretty much everything from the outside. Id stay there again and do recommend if you dont mind those two negative things.

However, starting from the second evening, our nightmare began. While we were out, hundreds of termites suddenly appeared near the bed by the window. We couldn’t tell where they came from, but they were all over the bed area near the window. Many of them had already gotten into my suitcase. We immediately filed a complaint with the reception. The staff seemed to already know that there were a lot of termites in the building. It felt like they didn’t take it seriously, saying that termites come into the room if you leave the lights on when you go out. They also mentioned that other hotels in the Ma’alo area have termites as well. For us, the termites were a major concern. The idea that they could be carried back to our home was horrifying. The staff moved us to a new, larger room right away. However, even in that room, there were still a few termites. We complained again and decided to check out the next day. The staff apologized sincerely, offered us free breakfast the next morning, and canceled one night of our stay. We couldn’t sleep at all that night, spending time finding and removing termites that had gotten into our luggage. Some were even crawling on the bed. We ended up staying awake for most of the night. Although the public parking, beach, and nearby restaurants were convenient, the hotel itself was the worst part of our tr

A wonderful, classy hotel on Ocean Drive. Perfectly located amongst the bustling restaurants and across from sandy South Beach. The rooms come with a set of beach chairs and you can get towels from reception which was a nice touch.

Nice, vintage feel to the property. The bed was very comfortable. No coffee in the room was a disappointment, but you could get free coffee in the lobby in the mornings. Free beach towels and beach chairs was a nice touch! I would come back!

Nice but noisy!

Nice hotel in Miami Beach. Great location and nice rooms but very noisy. Not sure if it was because we were on the first floor but we heard everything! The trash trucks, music, everything. Otherwise I would have given it a higher rating!

I had continued problems with my toilet in my room. It wasn’t working & had to be fixed several times & still wasn’t working properly. There’s no microwave in the rooms or the hotel if you bring food back to your room to eat later. Other than that, the stay was ok

Great property! Right accept from the beach, free chairs and towels, awesome staff. Our breakfast waiter - Manny - was wonderful! Very kind and attentive - helped make the trip wonderful. The concierge who was there nose date - I feel terribly that I forget his name - was also amazing! Extremely helpful and kind. The food was excellent ever meal. I would totally stay here again.
