Great hotel, the staff were all friendly. Stayed in the corner suite room, nice big TV, it's obviously been renovated recently, and had a great view of Ocean Drive on the 2nd floor. I wish the beach chairs they give you were normal chairs that are taller, the provided ones are 2" off the ground and make it a bit hard to get in of and out of. I managed okay, but if you're on the older side of things you'd probably struggle to use them. They were free though, and the provided beach towel was nice. My only complaint is that the A/C thermostat won't let you lower the temperature below 70F. With no ceiling fan, there were times at night when it was cooler outside that the A/C didn't run for a long period of time and it felt a little stuffy. Allowing 68 or 69F would have made things much better, I've never seen a hotel limit that before. Other than that, when the A/C turned on, the air coming out was quite cold, blew really hard, and easily kept the room at the set 70F even during the heat of the day. Would gladly stay with The Avalon Hotel again.

Hotel is above restaurant…nice but at night they play music and could be noisy for some. Right across street from beach area. PLENTY of dining options that are within walking distance! We arrived early and our room was available so they went ahead and let us check in! We arrived at 11:00ish AM too!
