It was a nice hip hotel along the touristy area of Miami Beach. It seemed to be a combination of 2-3 hotel buildings and the main building you check in but they had me walk next door to the next building where the outside DJ was spinning dance music and the taco restaurant was filled with people. Little embarrassing to have to walk with your luggage, through the people eating their food, into double doors (which no one was there to greet/guide you or help open the doors. You end up in the restaurant kitchen area where elevators were (very odd). Looks a bit sketchy in the hallways but once in the room, it was a gorgeous room with cozy bed. I paid for early check in and larger room but I never received the larger room (same room size as my friends who was next door and didn’t upgrade ) but they still made me pay 60$ plus early check in rate online and they didn’t even see it on reservation. It’s a loud hotel so you’ll hear music day and night till restaurant closes. It’s definitely a vibe with rooftop bar and small pool area. Beach is a block away. Tacos were great but plenty of restaurants nats and shops walking distance

The Expedia service was terrible, from the trip to Houston to the change of one night at the Catalina. Will never use Expedia again, and understand friends, family and wife when they recommend to work directly with hotels. Horrible!

We arrived late at night and, due to how exhausted we were from traveling, we didn’t have the energy to raise concerns upon check-in. Our room was located in a separate building adjacent to the main lobby. Upon entering, we immediately noticed a strong smell of mold and a generally damp, musty atmosphere. It was evident that there were issues with humidity and poor air quality. As someone sensitive to mold, I felt uncomfortable and concerned about spending time in the room. Breathing the air inside was difficult, and I imagine it would be even more problematic for anyone with allergies or respiratory issues. Since we were only staying for a few nights and planned to use the room solely for sleeping, we decided to stay. However, each night was a challenge due to the poor air quality. Unfortunately, after the trip, I became ill and noticed that all of my belongings had absorbed the musty, damp smell, similar to that of a wet cabin. This raises serious concerns about the maintenance of the property and whether it meets acceptable health and safety standards. On a positive note, the hotel staff were consistently kind and helpful throughout our stay. Their service was the highlight of an otherwise disappointing experience.

I’ll start off by saying that the guy with the Afro at the front desk unfortunately I don’t know his name was incredible always asking if we needed help with our luggage and even upgraded us after all the trouble. However the hotel is messy, it’s unorganized there are 3 buildings with restaurants at the bottom meaning you have to go out in your bikinis if you want to go to the pool in front of an audience. The rooms in the Maxine buildings are under renovation yet the walls are green and the curtains yellow, the elevator was out of service when we were on the 3rd floor of the building and the thermostats wasn’t working properly. On the first day we arrived there were men at the front yelling at one another and the lobby smelled of marijuana. Would NOT recommend this place for families.

Worse experience ever! The room was full of bugs everywhere, even the beds, dirty used sheets, dirty bathroom. I complained, and they told me there was not room to change, nor dot they do anything to help. The night front desk was terrible. The next morning, I told them I was going to report them to the city because the had a bug-infested room, so they moved me to another room. This room was a little more decent, however, the floor was broken, the sheets were dirty, and there wasn’t even a coffee maker. Another thing is that there are escorts at or near the front desk all the time; the armory is sobering.

I was horrible experience. Super dirty, personal was unhelpful. Elevators not working. Floor dirty, old carpet. Musky smell. Busy are, good location near the beach but not worthy. Good and confy beds, halls with smoky smell. Shower hot water not working.
