When I first walked into the hotel I thought it was a 5 star property! It is a very pretty lobby! Has a cute little ice cream/ coffee shop and the pool and beach are very pretty! Those are the pros! I almost didn’t book this hotel because many people complained about AC issues. The hallways were very cold so I immediately thought- wow I’m so glad I didn’t listen to those reviews. However the actual room wouldn’t get very cold which made it hard to sleep. Also a big negative was food at the pool. We ordered guacamole for $16 and it came in a little tiny plastic container like a large Jell-O shot. It also came with two more: one with pico and one with sour cream. Who wants a huge container of sour cream for guacamole? These seemed more like toppings for nachos. So that was a bit sad because I love good food by the pool for vacation. The thing that really did drop this down a further star is that we were awoken multiple times to hammering and sawing noises. My husband went upstairs and the whole floor above us was being completely remodeled. They offered for us to move rooms but with an infant and leaving in a day it really wasn’t worth it. They did waive some fees and give us late checkout which was definitely appreciated. We also did enjoy the brunch each morning, so that was a highlight. Also the nice walking path and the beach is gorgeous. All in all it wasn’t a terrible experience but it was just all the little details, like stained pillows in our room and lobby.

This stay at the Grand Beach was disappointing. Our floor and many other areas smelled of weed every day. People slammed doors and had kids shouting for hours. As for the hotel itself, the front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. The valet staff could take a lesson from them—very stoic. Not one smile. Bar service on the beach was great. The room needs work. We had constant noise from the street despite being on the 14th floor. Glass should be soundproofed. The bathroom looked like something out of a two star hotel. No drain plugs in tub or sink. Loose plumbing fixtures and toilet seat. The couch in the room was stained and should be cleaned or replaced. Houskeeping was difficult. We didn’t receive what we thought was the correct number of bath towels (2), hand towels (1), wash cloths (0), so we asked the maid working the floor. She told us we had ro make a formal request which surprised us. The person at housekeeping also said she was surprised and had more items brought to us. That was great. The problem was we had the same issue every day. We gave up. We previously stayed at this hotel and were very happy with all facets. Not this time. I would not rate this location as a four star hotel based on my experience. At best a three star. There are a lot of nice things about it, but they need to up their game on room quality as well as the other issues mentioned. I have stayed at a two star hotel recently with better room and housekeeping service.

My initial impression was that it was a little bit glamorous, but that faded quickly. The lobby is pretty, but that's about it. Overall the staff was not particularly friendly, though there were two at the front desk at different times that were. The elevators took FOREVER, and the staff was using them as well, so sometimes we had to wait even longer because there was no room when they were on them with garment racks, luggage, tools etc. . The room was all gray and white, lacking any character. The room was dirty - dust bunnies on the floor, 1/4 of an inch of dust on top of the fabric headboards, miscellaneous splatters on the mirrors. One of the pillows smelled horribly like body odor and I had to ask for a new one. The tub was old and peeling and had what looked like mold.The battery on the safe was low so we didn't dare use it. The hotel checked in with us via text, but some of it appeared automated and some of my replies just didn't get answered. When I asked for some things to be addressed, only some of them were; we never were able to use the safe. The location wasn't near anything close, so you did need to travel to shop or eat out. That being said, the view of the ocean was phenomenal and the little balcony was nice to sit on. The outside of the property, pool and beach front, were fabulous. With everything else though, I cannot recommend.

Many things did not work well in our suite. AC/ toilet & missed servicing the room once. We spoke to the front desk about those item & they attempted to fix, but the issues remained. Great room and the customer service was top-tier. I would book again. I also love how the valet guys make you feel safe and protected. That’s important, especially in Miami. The swimming pools are heated and that was perfect as well. Also, waking up to the fresh smell of cookies from the ice cream shop was a dream too. Thanks guys.

Terrible experience

Arrived to a room with 2 towels and no sheets on the 2nd bed. Asked the maid for additional towels and sheets as we were 3 staying in the room. The maid told us to call the front desk to request. After making the request 1 hour went by with no response. Asked the maid again and was told “you will have to wait” in a very nasty tone.
