Getting to this hotel was a little difficult but worth the effort. Miami traffic is the worst so make allowances on travel time. Try to get a room on the lagoon side. The airport and highway noise is continuous throughout the night. The FREE BREAKFAST is incredible. Hot, lots of choices, and a 10th floor dining room that is beautiful. Parking is in a issue. There is a parking garage adjacent to the hotel that charges $15/day to park. There is some ground parking that is free but finding a space here in the evening is VERY difficult.
Five star for everything but the staff. 1st could not get a simple answer on where the hotel shuttle picked up. When finally given a straight answer (2nd floor door 5 - NO reason it took THREE separate calls to be told this) the van drove right by. Had to pay $40 for cab to hotel. The reception are had very limited searing wand was packed. We were early ourselves, so that was not a complaint. However, due to website we were aware there was a lounge on site with seating. When we asked we were initially directed by a male employee where we could store our luggage and directed to the 10th floor.
A female employee then rush over and told we were not permitted up there (clearly within our hearing). He disagreed with her and told us to go up. The lounge was huge and completely empty. There was dozens of people standing downstairs because there was not were to sit and a fantastic lounge with tons of seating empty upstairs. I am unsure which employee got the hotel policy correct. I know arriving/departing customers were being directed to the nearly restaurants. Perhaps the lounge is actual closed between check in/check out times to filter people to the restaurants within walking distant. We had a sit down meal at Panera before asking about the upstairs seating. Hanging out at the restaurant any longer was not feasible for us as we have a special needs child who is also in a wheelchair. Rating easily raised from 3 to 5 stars by being able to use the available seating.
property advertised 24 hour airport shuttle but site wasn’t updated but Juan made it right and helped us out! appreciate it! great place on water & tons of food to walk to!
Nice big rooms and a good location. Unfortunately it seems they forgot any kind of sound insulation between rooms. You can hear everything from rooms next door and above. The fire alarm went off twice for no reason, and we had to evacuate. A member of staff with a clip board walked in our room everyday, without even knocking, no idea why.
Overall it could be grear, but unfortunately is average at best.
