the beach and surround area and clean and nice, open buffet breakfasting was great, and the service was good. I did not like the room it is old not up to date with beds tables, chairs, furniture, and paints. Old coffee maker, no tea or sugar, no tissue paper, there are more things are missing for sure, I will stop witting about it

We spent 2 nights at Riu Miami and loved our room was beautiful ocean front and very clean and spacious. Loved the breakfast buffet lots of great options. we had rooms 540 and 542. both are in need of an update. tp dispenser barely handing on the wall. wall next to shower not painted. tape on the wall next to window. no privacy as far as bathroom. need to place some nylon lines between columns on the outside dining seating to help keep the birds out. birds were taking food right off the plates of guests as they walked outside and when they left the tables. breakfast time was a cluster - everyone gathered around the bread toaster creating traffic jam. needs to be better organized at the buffet. this was our second trip to this location and will be our last.

Great hotel, family friendly

Highly recommend the hotel, extensive breakfast buffet options which were great. Staff are friendly and go above and beyond with service. Hotel decor had a Christmas theme and it was very pretty. The only downside is that it’s far away from south beach however easily accessible by the citi bikes to rent. 15 mins relax bike ride will get you there

Property was average, the staff was awful booked for a king bed ended up with a twin queen bed room. The front desk promised that the next day it would get fixed and we’ll get put in a king bed room that was a lie and they kept denying it. Also asked for a two glasses of wine for the room was denied the employees just kept saying yes and did not give an explanation due to poor English. Would not stay again at this report rather go to the Palms next poor.

Unfriendly front desk staff. Very loud guests that were shouting in the hallways late at night. Bathrooms were leaky, running toilets and hot water was hit or miss. Will not stay again at RIU and stick to Marriott properties.

First- it takes a lot for me to leave a negative review as a business owner I know the impact it can make but this needs to be addressed. This hotel was not cheap and we were very disappointed in the Riu. The room smelled like sewage the whole time. They were fixing the ceiling outside our room and drilling and hammering beginning at 7am every day.we weren’t told of any construction when we booked( maybe there was an accident, not sure) We notified the staff that the smell and noise was concerning and they sent someone up a couple hours later to “check” the room. He came in opened the bathroom door and looked in and said he will be back but never returned. There were several things broken in the room ( glass on table, lock on patio etc. This was our first stay at Riu resorts and we won’t ever stay with this company again.
