Great value

The hotel is well positioned for going to the beach, bus stop and lots of restaurants.The front desk is quite cheerful. Next door there’s a cafe - Season’s cafe- that had great choices for warm sandwiches. The room is standard- what we really liked was the shower! The shower is really large and it drains in a sleek way, it’s very cool. Housekeeping is not included unless you have a longer stay- like us, we were there 6 nights. Even then, we had to request the said cleaning multiple times before it happened. Not sure what the deal was with that. It’s true that if your neighbors are loud you can hear them. However that didn’t particularly bother us, and while we brought earplugs after reading other reviews, we ended up not using them.

Sonder The Abbey exceeded my expectations. Room was very clean, well laid out, and comfortable. Excellent location. I only spent one night but would be happy to have stayed longer.

I asked for an early check in the day prior after inquiring about entry instructions as I was supposed to receive those 3 days prior to the trip (I had done their verification requirements when I originally booked) and then they made me do it again then sent me the instructions. They also said they would provide me with an answer about checking in early the evening prior which they didn’t do. The staff was great once we arrived but it was such a hassle prior to that. Also I was charged the full 46$ for the 12:30-1:00pm check in when we went in at 1:30. I don’t know if I would book with this company again…

This is a bare bones hotel. They don’t offer housekeeping throughout your stay. The room was nice and spacious. But we had to go to the front desk to ask for new towels, more coffee, etc. I think you can find something at the same price range that offers a typical hotel experience that provides regular housekeeping.
