Great location for exploring Miami Beach
We stayed one night at the Kent Hotel to explore Miami Beach before flying home after a two week cruise. The location on Collins Avenue is excellent - the beach is literally round the corner. Collins is lined with lots of small hotels, cute restaurants, cafes and bars. The main shopping area (Lincoln) is a 10 minute walk. The hotel is small but has its own restaurant (although we didn’t use it as we had reservations elsewhere). The staff are super helpful and friendly. The hotel also has beach towels they will lend you for free which is perfect with the beach just around the corner. The room was a decent size (perfect for two, a bit of a squeeze for four but it was only for one night). The only downsides were a weird smell in the bathroom and little sound proofing - could hear the people in the room next door turning the light switch on and off. Was great for what we needed though and could store our luggage before check in/after check out.

The hotel is very old. Outdated. Run down and very dirty. Horrible elevator for 2 people and no bags. I would not stay at this hotel ever again. The bathroom smells and the shower is awful. For the price and what you pay it’s not worth it. I will not be back and I would recommend you find a different place to stay.

The sliding window in my room was not operable (sliding window was affixed with a screw). An ability to have some natural ventilation in the room would have been good.

It was oh-kaay, but some weaknesses. The room looked like the picture—I liked it, wife thought it was a bit small. On weekend nights, it is LOUD if you are overlooking the bar/restaurant attached. No issue with general Collins Ave noise, but we had a deejay and speakers outside our window. Unsleepable until 2am. We had to change rooms the next night and then it was fine. The gentleman at the front desk was pretty sarcastic about it and pretty much blamed us somehow, which was uncomfortable. We wouldn’t stay there again, mostly because it was meh and the staff didn’t leave us feeling like we wanted to come back.
