Shockingly cold, the room was freezing, I've never been so consistently cold in my life, I then tried to get a shower to warm up, the options were cold water or colder water, the shower was mouldy. Thin floors, people were running about all night, car park was blocked for 30 minutes I had to sit outside. The room wasn't what was pictured. Would not return
I was not sent the access codes to enter the building prior to my arrival. I called OVO for assistance and it went through to a generic telephone service provider, who at the end of the call said he will send the details to the team to send me codes. At this point I thought I need to get another room arranged. Hotels.com only had a virtual assistant who was useless, just kept resending the booking confirmation.
It’s the next day and I STILL HAVEN’T RECIEVED ACCESS CODES.
The level of care provided by Hotels.com and OVO were both useless at night.
Completed all pre-check in forms which were requested in order to get the access code, but the codes didn't populate. No number to call the hotel provided on hotels.com.
When I got to the hotel I had to wait around for some guy to go get the codes and write it on a scrap piece of paper. Room was FREEZING as the radiator was not sufficient to heat the room. Mould EVERYWHERE in the bathroom - even the power sockets were loose and nearly falling out the wall - a real slum landlord property.
The room was the size of a cupboard - the shower was covered in black mould or slimie rust at one point I initially thought it was faeces (including the shower head) bedroom window could not be fully closed and was again surrounded by black mould
Where to begin…
I booked one night in this hotel, was close to where I needed to be for work. Parked my car at 10pm, didn’t meet any staff as received check in details via text. Code entry to room. Basic but clean room. Left at 8am.
Few months afterwards I receive a letter from a debt collection agency regarding an unpaid parking ticket from parking eye. I contacted the hotel, they informed me ‘it was nothing to do with them’ contact Parking Eye. In turns out parking eye manage the car park at the hotel. So I’ve received a 115 pound parking ticket for leaving my hire car in the hotel car park. Which is advertised as free parking. The hotel don’t want to know, have been extremely unhelpful and not apologetic. Now I either go down the legal route or pay 115 quid. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone based on the lack of communication and general lack of interest in my predicament. The desk was unmanned on check in and no barrier at parking. Resulting in me receiving stressful communication threatening legal action if charges are not paid!!
