Great location for visiting other cities. Very windy though. Wine was very good. Staff very friendly but had plumbing problems. No water while plumbers worked.

I would stay here again. The common seating areas were beautiful, and between breakfast, wine and cheese, and evening cookies there was always a small touch to elevate the stay. Very convenient location to catch the highway into San Fran or to go deeper into Mill Valley. The hotel is right beside a highway which surprised me but once checked in that was easy to forget. And, the walls into the hallway could use a little sound proofing as I could hear the knocks on other doors. But again these felt minor enough that I would stay again.

A GEM!!

The Acqua is a treasure hidden (in plain sight) next to the 101 Freeway just before the Golden Gate Bridge. This picture doesn't do it justice - it's built along the water the mirrors the lights along the along the roads and hilltops of the surrounding Mill Valley at night. It is attractively landscaped with a comfortably sized outdoor seating area for relaxation and offers an oath along the water for strolling or walking your dog. Our dog appreciated that ;-) It is elegant, understated, and restful - a quiet and peaceful haven close to the city; I've always treasured it. Pluses include free parking and a free delicious American breakfast with everything from bacon, several kinds of eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, waffles and all trimmings, signature vegetable frittata. They have always maintained the highest standards of cleanliness and use remarkable cleaning products that are not only healthy, but good for the planet. The staff is friendly and competent - eager to help you whatever you need, whenever you need it. When my daughter and I had difficulty with resetting the unusually complex ventilation system, the person at the front desk came to our rooms to set them for us and then teach us how to do it ourselves. It was 11:00 PM! The staff is happy! It seems as though they are seriously valued and treated with respect.The atmosphere is one of gracious welcome that gives a feeling that each guest is truly appreciated. I can't recommend this too highly!

Very clean. Hard working, friendly staff who seemed committed to our having a wonderful time! Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Shared spaces were lovely. Breakfast was wonderful. Shower head was low and the room had an odd smell, but we were able to open the sliding glass doors and air it out. We stayed here during our visit to Muir Woods and San Francisco. Wonderfully located for both! We would stay again.

We had a fabulous stay! The front desk staff were so friendly and incredibly kind to our little Boston Terrier — giving her toys, treats, and TLC. Our room had a terrace that looked out onto a peaceful body of water, like we were a world away from the bustle of things. High ceilings, a comfy bed, and a stylish bathroom were some of the highlights we enjoyed in our room. Not to mention an abundant continental breakfast each morning. We would love to stay here again!
