Total awesome experience of superb onsen indoor and outdoor! Such great dining omakase experience for dinner and breakfast! I would love to stay more nights!
Kurosawa Hot Springs is well known in Japan for its good quality hot spring water. This inn is located at right in middle of town and parking is very convenient. They have good quality food for dinner and breakfast. It is not 5 stars but it is pretty good cost performance. Besides it’s main hot spring bath, they have 2 private baths if you want privacy or have tattoos. Room is small and very average but it has a great view of mountains.
Outstanding service and clean/comfort rooms.
I was a bit concern before I booked Nanjyoen due to the fact that there weren’t many reviews on this property and it completely beaten my expectation. We booked as a family of 4, the room was big enough to fit all of us, there is also a big window in the room where you can have a clear view on the town of Kurokawa. We also booked dinner and breakfast with them, the kaiseki dinner was really good and served in the dining room. Another thing I liked on the property is the onsite onsen. It has an indoor bathing for men and women, also few outdoor bathing to choose from.
We had a very relaxing time in Nanjyoen and would definitely recommend to people traveling to Kurokawa Onsen town.
Amazing service and facilities if you are looking for a quiet onsen getaway from the Japan big cities. Make sure you get two meals included. The food is delicious. Their service superb! They contacted me thru hotels.com message system to ask about food allergies or restrictions and how I plan to get there and then gave me specific information accordingly. They're quite responsive too.
The property is in a central location of Kurokawa, where the information centre is. Walking distance to nearby shops. The facility is quite new as I read somewhere it's a newly renovated property.
The onsen is awesome! There's family cozy bath, one outdoor and indoor bath for both women and men. The outdoor one is swapped in the morning. I don't know why but when I was there, seems noone is using the onsen, like a private one. The occupancy was quite good too.
I loved the meals they served. And you have a semi private space for the meals in the dining room. Free coffee in the lobby. But no bottled water in the room, supposed you can drink the tap water.
The room was huge! I liked the "bar table" with the chairs in front of the window. But note my room had no bathtub, need to use the onsen space to bath. But the toilet and sinks were there. The rooms were quite warm, but you can adjust it. Overall, I loved my stay!
This hotel services have always been attentive and of high quality. But I think Onsen closed at 2100 is too early, it is not enough time to enjoy Onsen when finished dinner
