WNBA game trip

The hotel was generally lovely; the staff was excellent and helpful. The restaurant is very good. We had a large diagonal beam across our window which we didn't love. The neighborhood can be loud (sirens) and the windows did not block this. It was concerning that the hotel did not seem to have any communicated emergency plan during a recent tornado warning.

We come to Minneapolis every year for a baseball experience. Last year we stayed at the Royal Sonesta and arrived to the city early. We asked about an early check in and was told it would cost $40. We wandered around the city instead. This year we went to the Mall before check in time. We arrived at the hotel at 4:00 (check in time). We were told our room was not ready. We were offered a drink (okay but only for a little while). We finished our drink about 5:00 and tried to check in again. Still not ready! We were going to attend the baseball game that evening at 6:40 so we wanted to freshen up etc after traveling all day. Our room still was not ready before we had to leave for the game. After the game (9:30) we were able to check in. I do think we should have been offered more than just a free drink for all the inconvenience. I would like a response from you to know that you are addressing this concern.

The hotel is really neat! The beds were comfy. The staff were all very friendly. The only issue I had is the carpets can make you feel dizzy because of the pattern. All that said, I would definitely stay here again!
