This was my first time staying at a Kelly's Inn. I was thoroughly impressed with the decor, the cleanliness of the room and the friendly and capable staff. I will stay at a Kelly's in the future.

Hotel is located close drive to everything with some walkable dining/drinking nearby. Some great diners and coffee shops downtown so don't waste your time on the breakfast - it's not the best.

Room’s air conditioning had been obviously leaking onto the floor for a while, as the room had a very musty odor. Upon notifying the front desk, I was told that there weren’t any other rooms available. The person working the desk came up to inspect and acknowledged the problem like it was new and asked if we had turned the air conditioning down all the way, as if that’s what caused it. Offered to have maintenance dry the floor (which never happened while we were there) but did not offer any other solutions or compensation. A poor experience.

Lobby area was clean and front desk employee was super friendly. The room however was a different story. The carpet wasn’t clean, crumbs along the walls. Sheets were questionable whether or not they had been changed. One of the comforters had a stain on top of it. Room smelled musty. We stayed here a couple years ago and it was good. Not the same place it was before.

We have stayed at the Kelly Inn the past 2 years on our way to the Sturgis motorcycle rally and this year we did the same. However this year we did the same but arrived just before a severe thunderstorm started. We just made into our room as the storm opened up, major rain and very strong winds. Shortly after it started we realized that rain was coming in under our outside door and it was leaking down our window from the upstairs room above us. We notified the front desk and they gave us towels to mop up the water coming in under the door and place in the windowsill. We mopped up the water and repeatedly wrung out towels on the tub to keep up with the water coming in. We also tried our best with the water in the windowsill, however the air-conditioner was just below the windowsill and we had concerns with running it due to the water leaking down. After about an hour the rain slowed tremendously and we managed to dry things up well enough. We were still concerned with the water that had ran down around the air-conditioner and did not run it for fear of an electrical problem. The agent at the front deck contacted the manager and something would probably be worked out toward compensation in the morning. The next morning when we checked out I mentioned our situation to the clerk at the desk and she informed me that the manager would not be in until 10:00 but we should probably hear something from them. Well its been 3 weeks since and we haven't haven't heard anythingfrom them.
