It’s a Super 8 in Mitchell, SD. It was what you’d expect. Some parts have been updated but overall it’s in need of some repairs and renovations.

Good stay over

Business trip on the way from Minneapolis to Rapid City and stopped at Mitchell, SD at this Super 8. The parking area is a mass of pavement adjacent to stored vehicles and an RV park with an older building with little to no landscaping, so the grounds are not as nice as other hotels. However room was good, with comfortable beds, newer interior, and bathroom. Liked the mini fridge with separate freezer. Continental breakfast was good and plentiful. Near a lot of gas stations and restaurants. Affordable for a business or family stay over. Stopped over at the Corn Palace to check out this landmark.

Never again

Beyond dirty and terrible place to stay. The whole place is so dirty and unkempt. No one was taking any pride in the place. There were so many people that were friends and or relatives that were hanging around the front desk it was uncomfortable. They had so many people living in basement apartments with mattresses on the floor it was little more than a flop house. The room we stayed in was dirty and unsafe. There were so many items plugged in to the one outlet in the room and thew tv would not turn on without flipping a light switch. This place seemed like a fire hazard with all the plugged-in items. The desk clerk took forever to come to our room to help and was not pleasant, We will never stay here again and this soured us on Mitchell altogether.

● Did not feel safe. ● Worried about someone breaking into my car. ● Poor english ● Owners live in the hotel and there kids are running up and down hallway ● 3rd floor room doors were missing handles and inside these rooms were piles of trash and broken furniture. ● Floors and walls are dirty (IF WE COULD HAVE SLEPT IN OUR CAR WE WOULD HAVE AT THIS POINT.) ● The building smelled musty and pourly ventilated. ● Carpets were dirty there was a broken couch that was filthy in the room with ● Air conditioner was nasty and loud bad smell ● electrical wire hanging out of ceiling vent in bathroom. ● Power went out for a few seconds. THIS HOTEL IS A FIRE HAZARD AND SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. SUPER 8 WYNDHAM SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THE CONDITION THIS IS IN WITH THEIR NAME ASSOCIATED WITH IT.

After I was given a clearly used paper keycard holder I drove around to my room where several men were loitering. I parked and went directly to the room. The room was filthy. The beds, while made, were disgusting. The linens were covered in what appeared to be bodily fluids. I turned around and left.

Never Again.

Looked over reviews thought it would be ok nope. Never again. Had people trying to get in my room from the door berween rooms. Kids running all over all hours of the night. Needs a total makeover. Carpet stained and nasty toilet ran all night long. Found out the next day a friend also had the same experience i did and left in the middle of the night.

Happy stay except noisy air coolers

Noisy air coolers but three beds and pull couch which easily accommodates upto 8 people. Good breakfast for the price paid. Reception staff are very good.

Terrible place

Terrible. The pool smelt like mold. The floor looked like mold. The bathrooms on the rooms were not good either. Over all worst hotel we stayed in on our 7 day road trip.

This is a fine hotel for what it costs. I know they're working on it but this room needs its carpet replaced. I have stayed in this room before because it's handicapped accessible and the carpet just needs to go. Other than that it's okay. They were painting in the lobby and that was good and I can tell they're working on other rooms because the other handicap room has a nice floor so I think it's just a matter of time but for this visit it could have been better.

The hotel was older but the room was clean and comfortable. My kids used the pool and their swim suits smelled terribble afterwards. Breakfast was good.
