Upon initial inspection there was a used washcloths in the bathtub. We inspected the toilet. When we lifted the toilet seat there was dried blood & urine on it. We took it upon ourselves to clean it with the Clorox disinfectant we had brought with us. We had drove over 700 miles & had to urgently use the restroom. After that we spoke to the receptionist who spoke little English. She called the asst. manager & had me speak to her. When we went to shower and noticed mildew on the plastic liner. During the night the bottom sheet came off & we woke up on the plastic sheet over the mattress. That morning we left for the day. Upon returning that evening we were told they were closing due to the A/C going out. We had plans so I asked for towels to clean up before checking out. The towels I got handed were damp. I asked for a new set. We showered & got ready to checkout. While packing we noticed on the wall by the bed had green fuzzy growing on it. We spoke to others that were checking out who also had issues with cleanliness. As for the over all appearance. The bathroom hadn’t been dusted in quite some time, there was a thick build up on the towel rack & toilet paper dispenser. The furniture & flooring throughout were dingy & unkept. The place truly has the potential just needs someone to clean it up. We cannot recommend Malaga (Hellago).

A beautiful property located in central down town. The property is old and shows it a little bit but the style and presents of the building make it a very nice experience. located an easy walking distance (a few blocks) from lots of restaurants and entertainment. Would recommend it, if for nothing else, the history

It is a beautiful place. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were nice and helpful. The only issue I had was the shower did not have a safety rail for getting in and out. Also the patio area needed some attention regarding sweeping and getting rid of water bugs. Otherwise a nice place to stay.

Unfortunately, I receive notification that the reservation was canceled on the day of my visit due to a broken air conditioner. I had to move to the Holiday Inn, which turned out to be quite pleasant. This was my final effort to stay with Malaga, as the hotel's condition has declined over the past few years. Issues such as broken elevators, malfunctioning ice machines, and inconsistent hot water have become common. It's a beautiful establishment, but it certainly requires investment

This hotel has so much potential, they don’t upkeep it at all though. Broken curtains, electric lit mirror was falling out of the wall, broken wall plates, stained sheets, etc. is it worth the price per night? Yes I’d say so, but not a penny more.

Great location with plenty of parking. Very convenient and walkable to major tourist and dinning areas. Unfortunately our room needed some love. The door handle came away on my hand as did the one for connecting door. The tv had a broken foot and was propped on the cable box, the only hanger in the closet was broken. If I was traveling alone I wouldn’t have felt safe to stay in this room.
