We loved everything about this property. The grounds are beautiful from the lavender lined side walls to the acres of olive trees. The staff could not be more accommodating from when we pulled into the parking lot and Joseppe came running out to help with bags to every other server going out of their way to make our stay special. We love a smaller hotel and appreciate the attention to every detail. The room was perfect, bed was comfortable and shower was also great. At night we sat on our patio under the olive trees and drank wine, so special. The restaurant was also very good. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and our waitor(can’t remember his name, great smile though) was great. We loved our stay!!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Cenobio Hotel in Matera. Staying in a cave hotel was such a unique experience and felt like the perfect way to experience the Sassi, while still being incredibly comfortable. The climate-controlled air conditioning worked wonderfully, and the room was a welcome retreat after spending the day exploring Matera. What really made our stay exceptional, though, was Mario. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to take care of us. He met us in the piazza where our taxi dropped us off and helped us carry our luggage to the hotel, which we greatly appreciated given Matera’s many steps and stone streets! He was also incredibly helpful during our stay, including assisting us with restaurant reservations. The combination of the beautiful cave accommodations, wonderful location, and genuinely personal hospitality made this one of the memorable stays of our trip through Italy. We would highly recommend Cenobio to anyone visiting Matera and would happily stay here again.

Overall the staff and hotel was amazing very friendly and accommodating.

The hotel overall was great. Check in was smooth, airport shuttle was convenient, and breakfast was solid. The only thing we really didn’t like was the bed - it was rock hard and we felt like we were sleeping on plywood.

Over all it was a nice stay.

A beautiful and elegant stay in Matera, with breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. Excellent breakfast, charming surroundings, and warm, attentive service. A truly memorable experience and a wonderful place to discover Matera.

This is one of the finest hotels we have visited in Italy. Beautiful Italian design, careful and complete amenities, a lovely, menu-driven breakfast, and an outstanding dinner. It is well-situated to visit the old city. If for no other reason, visit Bari to stay here! (This is the most positive review I have ever written.)
