It was better than our expectations. The apartment exceeded our expectations – comfortable beds (quite firm) and good pillows. There was AC in two of the rooms and fans in all three. There was no frying pan, but we simply asked the staff for one and they arranged it right away. The staff were very friendly and helpful – both the pool attendant, the reception staff, and the guards at the gate. The pool was nice and well maintained. There was also a restaurant, and the food was very good. We highly recommend the Swahili curry chicken! Breakfast was available for 700 KES. It was an à la carte breakfast, and we could simply tell them what we wanted. The laundry service also worked very well. The hotel is located about 5–10 minutes walk from the beach. There is also a large supermarket nearby. It costs around 200–300 KES to get there by tuk tuk. We highly recommend Lotfa to anyone who wants to travel to Diani Beach on a budget trip 💜

This is my second visit, very good all round, but they ran out of clean free water.

Wow. What a nice surprise to open the doors to old world charm and a huge space in these self contained apartments right on the water. Met the owner on site and had a lovely chat over breakfast about the history and his journey since 1979. The restaurant onsite by the water is fab. Supported by the famous Tamarind restaurant by the side of the complex. The sunset view over the Mombasa Islands is really nice and you can leave on a boat ride directly in front. I arranged a private guided trip of the old town and it was a simple taxi pick up in the morning over to the Fort Jesus to begin. Really this is a gem of a place to stay if you like some old world charm and very friendly staff. Felt like I was back in my younger years in a lush garden by a river in Australia. Highly recommend and I would stay here every time I am in Mombasa.

So disappointed in the service here. Staff were not well trained - did not listen - were unwilling to assist. Our room was not made up daily - even though we asked. Food was sparse and was not anywhere close to what was expected based on our research. The fact that we had to pay for our food when we used room service - was insane. This is an All Inclusive after all. Would NOT recommend
