I have never been so badly mistreated by manager and reception of a property. They gave us a noisy room where I could not sleep more than two hours a night. The manager Alba Mendez Brea and her assistant oshane were the most disgusting, rude, unprofessional staff I have ever met in my life. We had to wait for hours for her to even show up and when she finally showed up she said we’ll get back to you in 2-3 hours. She never got back to us and when we went back Oshane told us that they’ll give us a better less noisy room in another Riu location next to us. The manager at the other riu didn’t even talk to us. They showed us a room on the first floor while our current room was on the 3 rd floor, half the size of our room, smelly and no jacuzzi. Then they wanted to insult my intelligence by saying our hotel was more expensive than the other hotel and have me sign a paper saying we’re VOLUNTARILYgoing to a shitier much cheaper room and they won’t PAY us the difference. They made us go back and forth to the other hotel and made us stand on our feet on our vacation and my birthday stressing us out. Then Oshane left us to go to the back room while other staff went to the room high fived him and literally laughed at us. My family member and I were in tears, they ruined my birthday and I got no money back, got disrespected and forced to stay up the entire night for our entire stay. The elevators, mirrors and ice machine were so dirty. They didn’t change our sheet & towels.

Staff were all amazing and super friendly and attentive. The food was great service was as well. The beach is man made and you couldn’t even walk into it. Seaweed mush everywhere. Wata didn’t seem as clean as regular beach. The hotel got be and messed up my reservation but we made the best of it thanks to the friendly staff

Location and distance from the airport.Dining experience and staffing were exceptional. Housekeeping staff were very helpful and responsive. Had an issue with the jacuzzi tub slippery after used although handrail is available and utilized. Enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to friends, will return while visiting JA again.

Overall, the resort was a bit of a letdown, especially when it came to dining. All the restaurants opened and closed at the same time, which limited flexibility. On top of that, the food options were very limited, especially for an all-inclusive resort. We also felt uncomfortable when the waiter gave us attitude for ordering extra food to try different menu items, which didn’t make sense given that it was supposed to be all-inclusive. Definitely not the experience we expected.

The staff was great. They are constantly mopping so floors were slippery. At check in we couldn’t get in our room because the door was broken or needed to be charged. Throughout our stay the power kept going out so that wasn’t good. Everything shuts down at 10 or 11

This place is staffed with some of the friendliest people! Unfortunately it does not overcome some of the shortcomings. We tried a specialty restaurant the 1st night and decided we would rather stick with the nightly buffet after such a disappointing meal. Rules seem to be haphazard or made up at times; there were topless women poolside, rules as to where you can eat/drink that are not posted, and the minute you get onto the beach 3 paddleboards full of sales people and their stuff begin bugging you to buy something. It just has the overall atmosphere/feel of a hotel instead of a resort. Screws backed out on light fixtures, parts missing from toilet seats, scratches and scuff marks all over the place, there just does not seem to be much pride taken in care of the establishment.

Very nice relaxing resort! Staff is great. Many good food options, food is plentiful and delicious. I didn’t like the dining reservations, it was too limited. Many days there was nothing available except the buffet. You have to try and book your dinner reservations for your entire stay as soon as you check in or you likely won’t have options. A few little housekeeping issues but I realize they are busy. Room service plates/leftover food was left in hallway outside of rooms sometimes all day. It was gross seeing that. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!
