This was my 2nd stay at Briarwood Inn and I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Carmel.There were 4 of us in the penthouse for a girls trip. We loved having 2 rooms with big beds as well as 2 bathrooms! Having the living room to hang out in was perfect. We loved having an assigned parking space, so you always know you have a spot. The location is absolutely perfect! So quiet, and walking distance to everything. Cannot recommend Briarwood Inn enough.

The bed was hard, and it had a plastic mattress pad. The small refrigerator was inside the only closet. The bathroom had water damage above the sink, the shower head was gross. All windows were dirty. The shades were flimsy and the street light kept us up

We stayed in the cottage. Two of our group were very unsettled by sleeping with windows open, as there are no screens. They come from an urban background, so having such easy access to the interior space was the issue. Keeping windows open was important as there is no air conditioning. Other than that, life there was fine and comfortable.

We were not greeted well; we arrived early and went to the front desk… the front desk person literally said..” you are way too early… we don’t do check in until after 3pm”… just a rude “welcome. The Stevenson House is a good choice but needs a new sofa and should provide bar soap instead of the dispensers in the shower. Also the desk agent on Sunday had a definite attitude problem. She was curt and dismissive and not at all welcoming.
