Room was clean, value felt appropriate for the price we paid. Stayed the weekend with my partner for a cozy romantic weekend. Walked to dinner each night. Walked to new coffee shops each morning. Spent some time shopping in town. Drove to 17 mile drive just a couple minutes away. Everything was walkable. Easy parking close to our room. Only “negatives” were the breakfast is pretty mediocre. Wasn’t expecting much since we knew it was a continental breakfast, but it wasn’t even a full breakfast. Plus they kept running out of milk and pastries. Other thing was the room got fairly cold at night. There’s no way to control the temperature except by opening the window or by starting the fireplace. The first night we woke up freezing because we didn’t have the fireplace on, and there were no additional blankets in the closet. Those were our only two things we didn’t love. But honestly we’re excited to stay here again in the future!

The hotel is located in such beautiful area! The room has so much national light! We had an ocean view and it was so peaceful! There were patios to sit at and relax and the breakfast was very good! We loved our stay! Everyone was so friendly!

The heater in our room was very noisy and did not work well. I was very cold both nights, even after asking for an extra blanket. The service was excellent at the front desk.

Cute room with a view

We had a corner room in the building on the street behind the main property. There was a large patio with amazing views of the town and the ocean. Even though it was January, we still sat outside to watch the sunset. On a chillier evening, we lit the fireplace for a cozy winter evening. The location is terrific - walkable to restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping in the town of Carmel. Typical free breakfast, but good enough to get a start on the day. The room was clean and quiet. I do wish the chairs, both at the table outside and the table inside, had been more comfortable.

Charming hotel in great location

I love this place! Nicely maintained grounds, rooms clean and comfortable, with fireplace, coffee maker and a mini-fridge. Fantastic location. An easy walk to many shops and restaurants. Bruno's market next door has everything you need for a great stay or a picnic at the beach. Friendly staff. No, it's not 4-star luxury. It's old, has cramped parking and you can hear the neighbors walking upstairs, but that's typical of many Carmel Hotels I've stayed in. If you want a clean, charming, convenient place to stay, this is a great one to choose.

Very good location for walking to the shopping and restaurant areas and a nice quiet and comfortable room. Only 15 minutes drive from Point Lobos where there are wonderful trails and gorgeous views.

Very nice refurbished motel with a gas fireplace in the room. Comfortable King bed. Breakfast was very nice. If you can get in the upper floors above second floor you would have a nice view of Carmel Bay. We would definitely stay there when we go back to the area.
