There was a mixup with the rooms but it was fixed right away. Some of the planets were dead in the courtyard, but overall the courtyard was beautiful. Can’t really say much about the room. It was really quiet. It was just walking distance to everything which that is a plus. Overall, I enjoyed my stay Thank you so much.

Stairs Are A Killer

This Inn is in a good location, nice downhill walk to center of Carmel. Our room was very large and we loved the gas fireplace. Manager was pleasant, but the office is minimally staffed and closed most of the time. It's also where the ice machine is, so load up if it's open and keep the bucket in your fridge and it lasts. The cleaning staff does not read or understand English, so I had to get a bath towel from our room and hold up one finger to get an extra. The big drawback to this place, for me, are the stairs to the second floor. There's no elevator or help, so you have to lug everything up yourself. They are not easy to climb and at night you can feel very insecure as they are not well lighted. So stick with a ground floor room. Advertised views of the ocean are there, but you mainly see trees and sky and water is pretty obscured. If you want bar soap, bring your own. It was fairly quiet, with guest dogs not barking too much. Garbage collection seems to happen daily and early. Parking lot is small and first come.

Lovely enclosed patio so dogs can walk out our room door without encountering cars. Julian the manager is very friendly and accommodating. Quiet street but only 4 blocks to Ocean Avenue.

A cute little inn for a good price

We have stayed at the Wayfarer a few times. Mike, the owner, has been doing some upgrades to the rooms and it is a work on progress. The bed was very comfortable and the room is clean. Maid service came in and cleaned and left fresh towels. This is a no frills inn. The price is great, allowing us to spend more money around town. We appreciate this. We will continue to frequent this cute little Inn and look forward to see the upgraded changes. And Mike, thanks for adding the coffee makers in the room. And i love the fireplace heater. One of my favorites

Always love staying here the staff the rooms and area are all excellent:) only one thing I’d say is eventually be nice to put microwaves in each rooms but that’s all :)

The Wayfarer is an older building that looks like it was maybe converted from apartments. It is located within easy walking distance to downtown Carmel and many restaurants. Although the parking lot only has 7 spaces, there was plenty of free street parking adjacent to the hotel, at least during our stay. The double room was a bit awkward in that whoever was in the front bedroom had to walk through the other bedroom to go to the bathroom, but that wasn't a major issue. The price was reasonable for Carmel.

Extremely kind staff. The property is quite old like most places in Carmel, but has recently been refreshed. The refresh looks like it was done quickly, and not professionally, but the price is right and the location is great. The bed was uncomfortable, but the view was lovely. The soap smelled great, the linens were very soft and clean. Parking was easy in the lot, but the spots are very tight. Not sure if I'd stay again only because of the bed. Overall, it's a decent place.

Great little place to stay! Plenty of food, shopping and and site seeing all in walking distance. The only thing we wished they had was a microwave in the room for all the leftovers we had and an ashtray or two somewhere on the property. Non smoking property.
