The Expedia photo of the property is misleading. It is not near the water and there is no view of the ocean. My room did not have a smoke detector but the staff installed one promptly. They claimed that some guests take them

Easy to locate and great location. The hotel is located in a great area. Restaurants were easy to walk to. My daughter was playing golf this place was conveniently located.

We saw deers in the neighborhood that was very nice. I think it's fawning season right now in August. The hotel is a bit far from the beach. So it's about a mile out that was not very convenient. Staff was wonderful . It's a quiet neighborhood which is nice However we're on the first floor and the people above us were stomping a lot it was loud. Our hotel window also faces the street so that's loud. For $280 it was expensive for what it is. I can find a hotel near the pier/ cannery row with breakfast...

Great place for a weekend at a reasonable price.

We enjoyed staying at Deer Haven Inn. Perfect for a place to sleep comfortably and spend the rest of your day enjoying Monterey. Deer Haven is an older inn, but well maintained, very clean and beds comfortable. They are pet friendly for a few of course. The price is very reasonable.

Great location Cleanliness Concern: stains on carpets, stains on handtowel, stains on curtains, exposed wires. Unit needs to be upgraded and Cleanliness ensured. Visible cracks in sink. This sink should be replaced.

Deer Haven is a beautiful little spot in Monterey. The rooms were comfortable, the bed was wonderful, and the staff was helpful. We'll stay here again.

We stayed here for one night and it was extremely noisy. The folks staying upstairs with a single movement the whole room was creaking. The coffee machine had a layer of dust and i was not happy with it. With the creaks and noisy sounds, I couldn’t close my eyes .

This is within walking distance to Asilomar state beach but they placed us in a corner room under the stairs that would creak every time someone stepped on them. Our Downstairs room also got a lot of foot noise from above. the smoking area was right next to our window. I think the Smoking area should be moved somewhere not right next to the rooms.
