The resort itself was very nice and well maintained. However our stay in the Monterey Suite was disappointing. The room itself was not very clean in the sink and showers.There was sticky/dirty stains in both. Then we found black mold on the shower ceiling the day we were leaving. And when we told the manager she treated it very casually and passively. For what we paid for the room I would have expected a higher standard. I will not be staying here again.

I rated this resort good instead of excellent due to a couple of reasons. The pictures make the ground level patio views to be peace and relaxing when really it's a couple feet of zen but you're looking a parking lot. There is no view of sunset whatsoever. The wall in the bathroom was thin. I could the neighbor's conversation clearly. Luckily, that was the case by the bed. I also chose this resort because of the airport shuttle included. However, I learned at check-in the shuttle doesn't start until 6a so it wasn't helpful to me because I had a 6a flight. But the unlisted amenities were fun (hammocks, extra large chess, cozy fire pits and tabletop fires), staff was nice and the bed was super comfortable.

Great place to stay in Monterey

I enjoyed the spa and the grounds were nice. Only thing I didn't like is the restaurant on the golf course charges an automatic gratuity and I didnt notice and tipped again so I gave like a 40% tip by mistake and then the coffee ran out and noone refilled it for the next 45mins til I had to leave after I told them and waiting a while and thought they got it started but then 30mins later went back in and asked if the coffee was ready yet and they hadn't even put a new pot on so I went about my day and went back the next day and told the manager and they gave me a free cup the next day so at least they kind of made up for the inconvenience on day 1. The hotels.com charges and what they try to charge at checkout are a lot different where youll end up paying for a resort fee and parking per night too which was unexpected and I complained so they ended up matching the hotels.com price to make up for it so I was glad that although I had a few issues, ultimately they did help and fix them for me unlike a lot of other places. Would def return again.

They are charging luxury prices but fail to deliver luxury experience. Extremely poor soundproofing (you can hear neighbors walking and floorboards creaking), quite old building and bathrooms with doors that don't close properly. So don't expect any privacy whatsoever. No ventilation either. The mandatory $20 daily parking fee feels like a hidden charge, especially since there are no alternative parking options nearby. There is a bunch of other hidden fees in the final bill. The heated pool requires a 50-yard walk outdoors, which is inconvenient in cold weather. Hot tub was too small and always overcrowded. Absolutely not worth the price they're charging.

I've stayed at this Hyatt numerous times, and it's always great until this visit. We heard our upstairs neighbor talking very loudly through the bathroom vent which was odd. I also take issue with the $20 daily parking fee + tax. There's no other parking areas nearby so you're stuck with it. pretty disappointing
