First off, from the moment I stepped into my spacious King Bed Room with Fireplace, I was immediately struck by the clean smelling room. I was so enchanted by the towel animals in the bathroom and toilet roll that I had to send photos back home to my family. At night, I was so cozy in my comfortable Kingsized Bed and lit fireplace. Another plus is the bathrobe and slippers which I used nightly. My husband underwent Cancer Surgery at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and I don't think I could have gotten a better choice for the closeness to the hospital each day. I was alone and felt completely safe because the hotel is quiet and set back a little from street traffic. In the evening, I went to Whole Foods across the street to buy my ready made dinner. I was under a lot of stress because of my husband's surgery but being so close to him and having such a wonderful haven to return and decompress each night made my stay such a delight! When my husband was discharged a day earlier than expected, the desk clerk was so accommodating and understanding. I loved the Mariposa Inn and Suites! The price was reasonable and I feel totally spoiled by the room amenities. The continental breakfast was fine and suited my modest needs. I would definitely stay here again for a getaway or a place to rest if a family members needs to go to the hospital.

It was so close to 5 Stars. Hot tub was suburb, the the wife and I really enjoyed it in the evenings. The room was spacious, the fireplace was a plus. So why not 5 Stars? The hall way carpets needed a good vacuuming. We were there 3 days some junk that was on the carpet when check in was there when check out. And they really don't serve Breakfast, it's a Continental Breakfast no real protein. Also they had for pitcher of drinks not labeled. I only recognized milk the other ??? Now I might be being picky about the breakfast not have a good protein, but being diabetic you need the proteins to keep you blood sugar numbers down. And the only fruit they had was brown bananas. So if you are not picky about the so called breakfast it could be a 5 star experience for you.

The bathroom is dated and there were no batteries in our two fire alarms. We arrived to see them hanging open in the middle of the room. There is rust on the hinges in the bathroom and the door was ragged wood on bottom. The sink has a very old faucet with very low pressure. The toilet holder was falling apart as well

I recently had the pleasure of staying one night at Hotel Mariposa in Monterey while exploring the stunning sights along Highway 1. First and foremost, the location of the hotel is convenient for anyone looking to discover the beautiful coastal views and attractions in the area. The hotel itself is more than nice for the price, clean, and appears to have been recently remodeled. The furniture and styling are both tasteful. One of the highlights the. breakfast included with my booking. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the variety of pastries, bagels with cream cheese, various cereals, and grits. It was a perfect way to start my day of exploration! I also want to emphasize that Hotel Mariposa is pet-friendly The staff at Hotel Mariposa were exceptionally kind and polite. Their hospitality truly stood out, especially when I encountered a bit of a crisis. After checking out, I realized I had misplaced my wallet in the room. I didn't notice it until I was already on the road, and I initially thought I may have lost it at one of the scenic viewpoints along the highway. To my surprise, the next morning, I received a call from the hotel notifying me that they had found my wallet and were mailing it back to me. I can't express enough how grateful I am for the honesty and integrity of the staff. Overall, my experience at Hotel Mariposa was great.I highly recommend this charming hotel to anyone visiting Monterey.
