The hotel was okay but noisy. The wall where the water nozzle is was broken out. There was no light for the bathroom counter area. The light on ceiling was missing. The stairs to walk up to the second and 3rd floor are a bit narrow and there is no elevator. On the plus side the pillows and bed were the best I had in any hotel.

Nice for the price

Nice, updated rooms. Hot water. Beach adjacent. Not a lot of walking room. Hard to get shower handle to stay at desired temp. A few small ants around sink. No smoke detector in room.

Poorly maintained very disappointed

Unfortunately we would not recommend this property at all. The night we checked in my husband fell down the stairs due to them being wet from fog and poor lightning. There was evidence that they had at one time had non slip tape put down but it has worn off and not been replaced there were no signs or warning and my husband was hurt pretty badly. When i spoke to the employee on duty he never apologized or anything hust said there was nothing he could do about it. Then we got locked into our room due to a broken dead bolt. They had to come in from the adjoining room and move us to it. Then at the end of our stay when i removed the sheets from the bed for housekeeping we found huge blood stains on the mattress we had been sleeping on. All in all this property needs a ton of maintenence and is not worth the 700 we paid to stay for 2 nights. Find a different motel to book for your stay in Monterey

"Stay away" , I will not recommend this property. This is an old property may be taken over by another management who clearly at a loss to run a hotel business. There is no ice bucket in the room and when I asked about it they offered tiny breakfast juice cups to collect the ice. In the bathroom there is a place for shampoo, conditioner & shower gel dispenser and the conditioner dispenser was there and when I asked the front desk whether they can fill the shower gel they offered few tiny hand soaps. The room does not have the phone & microwaves and you have to ask front office to deliver that and front office very rudely asked me tell all the items missing in the room together so that they don't have to make number of trips. The property listed that they have laundry facility and that is one of the reason I chose this property only to be informed that it is not functioning. The room layout is very bad, there is not enough space to keep your luggage. I asked the front desk number of times to change the linens & collect the trash but that did not happen. Finally they promised to do full room service that was done at 4 pm in the afternoon.

Our room was small and dirty. It was not suitable for a family of four. We had to take turns to get up and walk because there was not enough space for two people to be up at the same time since they squeezed in two beds and big furniture in there. The walls were dirty and it stains or throw up on them.

Bathroom was dirty, there was hair in the bathtub, hair on the sink, bathroom just didn’t look like it was cleaned. The deadbolt on the door did not lock which felt unsafe. Honestly just not a good stay. We didn’t even use the shower from how dirty it looked. The people in the room next door kept going in and out of their room all night. very noisy, would never stay again. Super overpriced for the room. Also the pictures do not match cleanliness of the room.

Rude front desk staff, was not helpful and short in conversation. Online booking advertised a pool, but it was covered in turf and not functioning. It looks updated online, then you arrive and everything is dirty. Stains on all the walls and doors, brown staining in the bed, hairs on all the pillows, door lock did not function because it was installed backwards, bathroom sink did not drain, and the list could go on forever if I had the time. The cleanest part of the room was surprisingly the toilet. Would not recommend to anyone on earth, not even my worst enemy.

Ran into the ground

Rooms were definitely not the greatest, bedding was still dirty, half of the electrical outlets didnt work, all the fixtures were barely hanging, and too top it off we found bugs in our room. We ended up changing rooms hoping it was in better shape then the last room, but nope it was any better. Ended up getting a partial refund and ending my wife and I vacation. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
