Perfect family getaway

The perfect family getaway destination. Beach access, aesthetic, cleanliness, beautiful/cozy room, and complimentary s’more’s made our stay one of a kind! The staff was very accommodating and attentive to anything we would need. 10 stars!

We loved our stay! The hotel has the best location. The room’s all new and has that modern contemporary feel. I also liked that there’s a restaurant in the hotel.

Overall, staff was friendly and lobby / food was fantastic! Also thought the location right off 1 is great, we were less than 10 min from downtown Monterey and Carmel. Would not recommend staying here for peace and quiet. One side faces the pool and the other faces the beach. Each night of our stay there was quite a bit of noise late into the evening because the fire pit was located directly outside of our room. Not ideal!

We traveled with our three young children (5,8,9). The staff was kind, and helpful when asked questions. However, there were a few opportunities for improvement: towels were always out at the pool, the google cast was down however that was Not communicated at check in so we wasted time trying over and over to connect, the daily service to the room did not make the beds or clean up dirty/used dishes/ replenish with fresh dishes, and for a hotel near the beach there are not near enough hooks for drying used towels and swim wear. I did very much enjoy the food at the restaurant, and loved the wine and s'mores kits that were included with the destination fee. All in all, we will likely return.

I book this hotel because I wanted beach front room I paid for it in advance, when I got there they told me there was a problem with my room, it was overflowed and they had to give me a different room with no view, my view was to the parking. They gave me q $50 dollars offf for parking my car for one night and that’s it. I would not care paying for the parking o wanted my beach front night.

I’m not a big fan of leaving negative reviews, so here’s an average review. The hotel is located in a prime location right on the beach. The indoor wave viewing room in the lobby was awesome. Perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine as you watch the sunset. The outdoor fire pits are plentiful. The hotel offers s’mores kits for the kids which was appreciated. There’s direct access to the beach and the hotel has outdoor showers to rinse off the sand. The pool was nice and warm. The parking was plentiful and never an issue. So here’s the bad. The hotel was undergoing a lot of renovations. Construction started early and it was loud. The waves were loud. Can’t fault Mother Nature for doing her thing but the hotel could use noise dampening under the doors. Staffing was definitely an issue. Not enough staff to run the hotel. We never got hotel cleaning services the entire time we were there. When we were at the pool, towels ran out pretty quickly and no one cleaned up the pool area. Guests had to run to the front desk to request towels. There were technical issues with the room. The TV wasn’t working, the AC motor sounded and smelled like it was about to burn out. We brought it to the hotels attention but once again, staffing issues were blamed. The staff that were actually working were cordial and nice. There were some that could work on improving their communication skills, but they weren’t rude, just could brush up on their customer service skills. Overall, the experience was okay

False advertisement

While booking the room through Hotels.com they offered a bay view for little extra price and we opted that. But when we reached there the front desk told us they are sorry and everything was taken and we ended up with a roadside view room . We wanted to stay in Monterey only for this reason and they ruined it They can’t charge more for a bay view if they don’t reserve and keep it
