Beautiful lobby at a historic hotel. However, sensible moderations (e.g. bathroom, more outlets and firmer mattress) would enhance the balance of staying at a heritage hotel. The location was great, walking distance to everything.

A very cool property in an awesome city. The place was kind of like a maze when we first showed up but we quickly got the hang of it. Rooms have a vintage feel but were clean. Overall a really cool trip!!

Comfy bed, some street noise and court yard lights that kept the room from being dark at night. The restaurant looked good but lacked ambiance, the food was good, the staff did their jobs but weren’t really helpful beyond that, room was small, the Victorian parlor looked interesting but you couldn’t take a drink in there and chill because no drinks allowed. Excellent location.

This is a very quaint hotel right in the center of beautiful downtown Carmel. It was so convenient to so many things and we enjoyed our stay. There are no elevators, so be prepared to carry your luggage up one or two flights of stairs. We felt it was worth it. Very nice hotel.

The location is perfect - walkable to everything and just a couple of blocks from the beach. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had an ocean view room, which we loved listening to the waves at night with the window open. I only wish there was a coffee maker in the room rather than having to go out to the bakery downstairs to get coffee.
