The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable — perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The property felt well cared for, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The only thing missing was air conditioning, which made the room a bit warm but the room was provided with a table fan which helped. Overall, a great experience and we’d happily stay again !

Good choice. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Really good location for walking and proximity to restaurants and shopping. Having a parking space went a long way on a busy holiday weekend.

Perfect location, near all the restaurants and stores. Our room was on the ground floor and very cosy and comfortable. We had a kitchen that was well equipped for a short stay. Beds were soft and comfy. The whole property is very traditional cottage style which was very cute. Gas fireplace in the living room was a nice touch. Staff were friendly and helpful and gave us good directions to the beach. We enjoyed our stay.

Very cute inn right by the downtown area. Easy to walk to and from shops and restaurants. Very quiet area and very high standards with cleanliness. I would stay here again.

A Wonderful Place to Relax and Enjoy Carmel

The Wayside Inn is our favorite place to stay in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The staff is outstanding, always welcoming and helpful. The rooms are charming, clean, and comfortable. We always sleep well at the Wayside! Its location is outstanding, close to shops and restaurants. Ms. Fabulous is perfect for finding the latest fashions. The sliders and beer at Mulligan’s are a great way to refuel at noon, and the happy hour at Vesuvio can’t be beaten. And Terry’s Lounge is perfect for classic charm and a cocktail. We definitely will return to the Wayside again and again!
