The Sunset views are spectacular. It was the highlight of our day. Every night was a masterpiece. Dinner is open air, and you can watch the sunset. The restaurant staff was very helpful and accommodating, especially Melanie. She went above and beyond to make our stay memorable she learned our names and our preferences. The room was spacious and spotless. It came with the balcony that we used very often. The hiking grounds are amazing and right outside your door. Front staff was also very helpful but Melanie stood out as very genuine and friendly. We used the laundry service and were so happy to have gotten the chance we did a night tour which was interesting. The front desk staff organized drives into town for us, but we always came back for the sunsets. Our favorite meal was the wood oven pizza, and the soups. The whole restaurant smells like wood pizza it’s to die for my biggest tip is bring enough warm clothes, bring rain, ponchos, it rains throughout the day and as eating is open air, you can feel cold. You will want a jacket. The staff will also bring you blankets

The stay was great, best shower ever, great trails around the property, dissapointed on the night tour would not spend the money! The food was delicious!! Would have loved to have some table games available as well!

Everything was lovely here. The staff were great, everything was clean. Food was pretty good. I have two things to call out - 1. There are no single use plastics anywhere on site. Amazing dedication to sustainability. 2. The views of the mountains and valleys are spectacular. The images don’t do it justice. When I return to Monteverde I won’t consider going anywhere else but this place.

Everything outside of the room was excellent. Rooms are damp due to lack of AC. There were small insects but that is understandable due to location on the farm. The outside bar, food and trails are excellent

The room and hotel is great. Quiet and farm to table food is impressive. The only issue we had is during dinner time, we ordered a pizza and later we wanted to order another one. We were told no pizza any more, so we ordered some dessert. But after a while, we found other table got pizzas. We tried to figure out what’s the problem, and the waitress explained it was communication issue and new pizza order would take 1 hour. Not fully understood the point and there seems lots of guest from outside to just have some quick dinner which makes staffs busy and not patient

We had a great stay here! The room was spotless, breakfast (free!) was delicious and their restaurant catered to variety of audiences. Everything around this place was beautiful! Great location! We went for birdwatching and hiking around the hotel, and the views were spectacular!

Valle Escondido was absolutely perfect and one of the highlights of our entire Costa Rica trip. The property is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by lush cloud forest with walking paths right outside your door. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and felt like a true retreat in nature. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind, always happy to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was delicious, and we loved being able to walk the grounds, see wildlife, and truly unwind. It’s rare to find a place that feels both relaxing and special, but Valle Escondido delivered in every way. We would return in a heartbeat and recommend it without hesitation.

I booked this stay in a hurry! Guess what, it turned out to be one of the best place to stay. It was very relaxing and the view from the Hotel front was scenic and felt like sitting in front of the view for a long time sipping coffee. The staff members were super helpful. The breakfast was great. The unique experience I had was the Kitchen staff asked me if I want something specific to eat, they can make it for me. They did made a nice Omelet for me for me. We also, had a great experience walking down the trail which is about 1.5 hours of trail. Overall it was a awesome experience, which is located in a quite place. We would love to stay in this place again!!

Extremely smelly bathroom. Which the were not able to fix despite me asking repeatedly. It was very windy the second night and our patio door wouldn’t remain shut. The doors are very flimsy and badly design(They said the wind was typical to Monteverde). They offered us another room far from where our kids room was for the night!! The bird watching they offered us was $90 pp and is three times the price of all the other tours, we took it thinking the quality would be good but the guide cut short the tour!! The location is fantastic and the staff is extremely polite but I don’t think they’re empowered to help or comp customers in cases like this! They could do better especially at the price tag they came at. The fam to table restaurant food was edible but nothing to write home about at the price tag!!
