Evacuated here during Hurricane Milton
My son and I evacuated from Florida to this hotel during Hurricane Milton. It was the first affordable hotel that allowed pets that was north of where we live.
We arrived 2 hrs before check in and they were able to get us into our room within 15 mins.
The hotel itself seems pretty old and dingy.
There was a weird smell that made my throat close up and made me cough. It was a terrible smell.
The room was okay.
Very spacious, but smelled musty.
There was one elevator and it took a long time to open/close the door (taking the stairs was much faster).
Maid service personnel were friendly.
The hotel accommodated for pets, but wasn’t very pet friendly.
There’s a continental breakfast with your basic food (bagels, toast, yogurt, waffles) and the people who were refilling everything never wore gloves when handling the food. Gross.
There was an “exercise room” which made me happy to see but when I walked in, it was being used as a storage room :/.
Outside the hotel there were constantly people smoking weed (not sure if they worked there or the hotel next door).
Overall for what we needed it for, it was fine.
I was thankful I found a place for my son, dog and I to evacuate to during the storm.
For a regular trip I would not stay here.
