Hotel Review: Home 1 Extended Stay, Alabama My experience at Home 1 Extended Stay in Alabama was deeply disappointing and unacceptable. Upon entering the room, it was immediately clear that cleanliness and pest control were serious issues. Roaches were crawling over the bed, the TV, the stove, and throughout the bathroom. It was unsettling and made it impossible to feel safe or comfortable in the space. Although I had booked for a three-night stay, I was forced to leave and sleep in my car due to the unsanitary conditions. I reported the issue, but the infestation made it uninhabitable. The only positive aspect of this stay was the receptionist, Jazmine, who was professional, pleasant, and genuinely tried to help. She was the one bright spot in an otherwise terrible experience. I cannot recommend this hotel until major improvements are made in cleanliness and pest management. No guest should have to choose between roaches and their car.

Alternative shelter placement.

I was assigned to room 103. The door had been kicked in at some point and rehung crooked. One of the "tenants" called for help because he was placed there with no food, no way to cook food not even a coffee pot! Of course my Aunt went and bought him something to eat. An ambulance was called for him and he was removed. The towels were stained. When I asked to exchange towels I was asked to return in 30 minutes because they where washing and had no extras.

I am requesting a full refund! Could not sleep something kept biting my arms and face all night I showed my arm to guy when I checked out and told him I wanted a refund he said I am sorry??! People outside our room playing music very loud all night!

They gave me a room on the 3rd floor and elevator was broke … I made them give me a room on the 1st floor … that room was nasty and smelled like smoke … the front desk guy just came and sprayed some cheap spray which made it worse

There were bugs in the room , loud people outside at times. Not very clean, Front desk person told me to park my truck where they have cameras which led me to believe there are people breaking into vehicles. In the parking lot there were vehicles that were totalled in crashes. Looks like people live in this place permanently.

This hotel is for displaced people. It was loud all night, moldy, dirty, and broken. They required a $50 cash deposit, not mentioned on booking. I heard loud stomping in room above, like someone was moving furniture until 11pm.

You Get What You Pay For

The hotel staff and front desk folks were fine and accommodating. The rooms were a bit run down and the bathrooms were in rough condition due to rust, leaks, and day to day use. The toughest part to deal with was the overwhelming smell of marijuana in the outside areas of the hotel, which tended to drift into the rooms. Obviously the price of the rooms were very competitive, but in the end you get what you pay for.
