This Property is not safe for cars and also we checkin there for like 10 minutes as there was detergent smell coming from the room and we were not able breathe. We asked for refund manager/owner said on call we will give but after that they are just saying no.

The Good: The property is apparently an old covenant which looks beautiful on the outside with very tall ceilings. It was also one of the most reasonable hotels in terms of cost. It's also close to a nice park and overlooking the river. Nice decor in the breakfast room. The Bad: I picked the property because it was sort of the half way point between the Stade Saptuo and Old Downtown Montreal. That said, both are just out of walkable reach at this location, as was a lot of amenities. Parking is also at a premium, but available but there is a bus route though. It's pretty much a bit of a hike to reach anything but a convenience store, so you will be a bit car dependent. The Ugly: The continental breakfast was incredibly limited. No eggs, no meat and pre-made waffles (likely right out of the box), not enough coffee to go around.

Loved this cute little hotel! The room and especially the bathroom was spotless. Only thing I would say was difficult was parking. They have spots but we were out quite late so all the spots were taken when we got back and we had to park a couple blocks (although small ones) away making sure to note the signs as certain sides of the street have restrictions on different days and times. Would definitely stay here again though!

I really enjoyed my stay. The breakfast is very good and has a nice variaty. I felt safe to go smoke at my car every night. Temperature is nice and cool during the hot weather. They offer extra blankets if you're cold. The beds are very comfortable. Thank you for good service

Our three nights stay experience

The room was cold both during the day and night, with a central cooling system that didn’t allow guests to adjust the temperature. Breakfast was good on the first day, but the quality dropped afterward. For example sausage was missing yesterday, and today there was not enough cheese.

It was an excellent deal. Read the other reviews, so you have realistic expectations for your stay. I was a bit concerned that it was going to be too good to be true, but it met or exceeded my expectations in every way. The continental breakfast had plenty of options, though not if you are gluten free. The hot water took a long time to arrive, but once it did it was plentiful. My room on the third floor had an internally mounted air conditioning unit. I ended up moving to a room on the first floor, and it had central air. The reception workers were pleasant, and management was responsive. My only recommendation is to bring long charging cords because the electrical outlets aren’t always conveniently located. I am a relatively fit solo female traveller in her mid-fifties who likes to walk, and I thought the location was perfect. The Auberge is about an hour’s walk to downtown, Old Montreal, and the old port in one direction and about a 45 minute walk to the Botanical Gardens, the Biodomes, and the Instectarium in the other direction. Bus stops to or away from the Auberge are very close, and it is about a 15 minute walk to the nearest Metro station. I wandered around from about 9:00 am to about 9:30 pm and never felt unsafe. I spent a lot of time exploring the nearby neighbourhood of Hochelaga and highly recommend checking it out. As long as the pricing stays reasonable, I would not hesitate to stay at the Auberge Manoir Ville Marie again.
