After multiple issues of being locked out of my room, they eventually changed the lock, offered two free nights as compensation and never credited the nights. Common areas were infrequently cleaned and carpets were dirty, the whole place is super dated. No restaurant or bar on site, cold drinks by the great pool but people smoking everywhere, and drinks in the lobby were kept at room temperature. Overall the staff were very kind and helpful but they appear to be stuck dealing with owners who will not improve anything and are running what was once a jewel into the ground. Homelessness has spread to the area

The room was clean. The staff were courteous. The metro was only a 5 min walk away, which made getting around the city much easier than driving. Parking was free and on site, which is a bonus as most places do have their own parking lot. Very happy with our stay. Will definitely be back!

Won’t stay here again
This is a hotel I have stayed at probably 30 nights over the past 20 years. I won’t be staying again. I checked in late (just after midnight) and I was given a key that made the lock flash yellow. I came down 3x to get it fixed and finally they sent someone with a master key to open the door. When we did, we woke up the person who was sleeping in the room. They tried to put me in an occupied room. It took 20 minutes to get me another room and there were more issues I won’t get into. To keep this short, the night staff are poor, the rooms are worn and dirty (I was given a renovated room, which means they painted the 50 year old bathroom door, chips and all. And pulled up the carpet and put glue-on tiles on the floor). It’s unfortunate because the location is very central and the parking is free. I won’t be back.

Stayed at Ruby Foo's Hotel in Montreal and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Convenient location with easy access to public transport and restaurants. While not the most modern, the hotel’s warm hospitality made my stay memorable. Would definitely return!!

First in my bathroom I had plaster chipping away from the ceiling, unit 150, second I had a trailer on my truck and I had to park across a few parking spots, some kids/ teenagers were trying to cut my locks to get in I had to chase them away then move my vehicle and trailer into a very tight inconvenient spot… with 300$ nights you should at least pay a security guard to walk around the parking lot. Other than that it was alright.

Arrived and the assigned room was not cleaned at 9pm. Cleaning staff had done an excellent job however it was nearly an hour until I could get into the room. No alternatives were offered not was any other discounts for the inconvenience.

We have stayed at Ruby Foo's in the past but it seems to have degenerated just a bit. The upgraded room (for a nominal fee) provided an improvement over the base level room and it was fairly clean. Water pressure is excellent and the in-room fridge is a full size bar fridge. There was no dresser in the room. The biggest drawback was the room safe. It was not bolted to the furniture and therefore could be carried out by a thief. Why have a "room safe" at all if it's portable?!?! The now closed restaurants were reasonably nice in their day but they have been closed for a while now for "renovations". If you are interested in eating breakfast at the hotel, you need to order in advance. No worries though as McDonalds and Tim Hortons are a short walk away across Decarie as is a large dine-in breakfast/brunch restaurant (Allo mon Coco). Also, there was no evidence of cleaning staff caring for the property over the weekend. Sunday morning we were greeted with a few french fries and other debris on the floor in the elevator for our tower (presumably from Saturday night). The fries and other debris remained there until we checked out on Monday morning. Hotel KPIs (Ratings) for a good stay: Bed comfort - excellent = 5/5 (as good as it gets) Noise - very good = 4/5 Location - excellent = 5/5 Amenities - poor = 1/5 Property Cleanliness - below average = 2/5 Staff friendliness - excellent = 5/5

Check-in staff member was very friendly and I was able to speak English with him. He explained the security deposit charge and promotes the available breakfast. Variety of shopping and restaurants nearby. One suggestion - room 160 needs black out curtains not just a shear type of curtain. Thanks.
