Really cool property in terms of the general quirky decor, the size and comfort of rooms, and the great location in Old Montreal. We walked to the Basilica, the pier, the museum, and more easily from there. I would stay there again. However, they did mess up my reservation name, charge the wrong credit card before we arrived despite the reservation specifically being not prepaid, and then double charged us when correcting this. We are still trying to correct their billing errors and it has been over a month since we've been there. We may just have to dispute the second charge with our credit card company to get the money back. So the payment logistics of staying there have been very frustrating, but the property itself is worth it (even though our room faced a parking lot that was very noisy until the wee hours).

The property was very good. Quaint restored hotel with lots of charm and personality. Very clean, friendly and attentive staff. I highly recommend staying at this hotel and will also do so in the future.

A Mixed Stay with Highlights and Challenges This property has many positives worth mentioning. The location is convenient for accessing Old Town and other parts of the city, and the price is competitive for the area. The decor is eclectic and artsy, adding a unique charm. Upon check-in, the desk staff was friendly, though I was initially assigned a first-floor room right off the lobby—an unsuitable choice for a solo older female traveler. After requesting a change, I was moved to a higher floor and given a spacious room, which I appreciated. The room was a mix of good and bad. The bathroom and bedding were clean, but the carpet was noticeably dirty, and the couch appeared unclean, so I avoided using it. The TV had persistent signal issues, and while the high ceilings were lovely, noise from the room above was disruptive. Despite several lamps and large windows, the room felt dark. On the plus side, the heat worked well, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast consisted of tasty pastries, coffee, and orange juice, though a few more options would have been nice. Housekeeping provided two coffee pods but failed to replace them one day. Unfortunately, the check-out process was impersonal; no one inquired about my stay or asked for feedback. Overall, my stay was adequate with no major complaints. While I cannot compare this property to others in Montreal, it met basic needs but left room for improvement in cleanliness, attention to detail, and customer service.

The staff at L Hotel were fantastic and extraordinarily helpful. The art which covered the walls and halls added to the ambience. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Location was great for walking to everything.

Excellent place to stay when you are in Montreal. Within walking distance to all of downtown old and new. Very accommodating. Valet service excellent. Every need was met during our stay. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit Montreal!
