The location is wonderful and the staff is always so nice. You can't beat the view! We have taken girls weekends here for over 10 yrs, even when it was the calm digger. The issue with this trip was we were in a room that was dirty. Honestly it felt like the room hadn't been cleaned in a while. There was dirt all over the floor, it was very dusty, there was a musky smell, and the shower didn't look clean. We went to the store and got some cleaning stuff just to clean it before we went to bed because there was no way we could sleep knowing it was that dirty. The linens were cleaned, but just not the room its self. I did mention it a couple times to the front desk just to let them know they may need to give it some extra cleaning before the next set of people come in. I understand it is hard to keep up with all rooms, but it's crazy the amount we spent and the room wasn't even checked before hand for cleanliness. But I will stress this, although the room wasn't clean, the hot tub half way worked, the restaurant isn't operational right now and their bar isn't open, the staff was always nice! I just hated we had to come at this point when it wasn't straightened out because honestly it is a lovely hotel.

We liked it and would go back.

Great oceanfront location, but in a remote part of the island with little to nothing else within walking distance. Rooms: Ceramic flooring throughout. Simple, old tv. Super low flow shower that was frustrating. Nearby activities The beach, pool, on site bar & restaurant are the only nearby things to do. But the restaurant and bar weren't open for the season when we were there in April. Great views of the ocean!

We absolutely love this hotel. They have done a fantastic job on the renovations. Everything was perfect, from the friendly staff to our gorgeous room with a spectacular view and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!

It's newly renovated, lobby looks very nice, price is very affordable for the location. We chose the 2 full beds for our family of 4, the room was small, bathroom was small but it was just for one night we didn't mind it. Definitely will pick a bigger room/beds for longer stay. Easy access to the beach/playground/pool, and we love that they provided beach chairs. Restaurant was under renovation, so we had to drive 15-20 mins to the nearest open restaurant. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and will come back again.

We love coming to Pine Knoll Shores, and to this particular hotel. There are a few things around the property that still needs to be addressed, such as only half of the hot tub working. But the staff are amazing, really nice and accommodating. We always enjoy coming down there which we do about every three months.
