We were in town due to a death in the family, and had to book a hotel quickly and this one was 15 minutes driving distance to the funeral home. Trusting the brand name, it seemed like a logical choice.
First, the good:
Staff was super friendly. In fact, the staff was literally the best part of our stay. Bill and Kim were super friendly and accommodating.
The complimentary breakfast is the norm: self-made waffles, coffee, tea, juices, etc. All good there. As far as our room, there was a refrigerator, microwave, all good. The room was reasonably clean, although I noticed some dirt buildup in areas that would require moving furniture to get to. Bed was good, the chaise was trash, however. As was the one in my family's room. Trash.
The overall hotel needs a revamp. Our room had some damage done by previous customers and the patch job was just really bad. Overall design is weird: in our room, the shared bath/closet barn-style door is not overly easy to maneuver. The dual purpose is just poor design. Also needing a redesign is the location of the elevators. Which I know is impossible, but the elevators are located the complete length of the hotel away from check in...awful positioning for anyone with disabilities. Speaking of elevators, really think they need to be upgraded. The doors don't always close because of faulty sensors. Lights don't work on the board or on the wall. Not sure when the last inspection was but, can't imagine it was recent.
Hotel needs some love.
