The hotel was located in an area I chose as being within walking distance to transport and attractions, which is what I always look for when travelling. The hotel was clean, the rooms where great and I had a lovely view across a park towards one of the big churches in Munich. The staff was friendly and tried to serve your needs. I never got to try the restaurant attached but believe it is quite good. I would stay here again if in Munich.
Well located. Guesthouse as part of a traditional German pub. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable and well organised with everything you would expect in a hotel. Not plush but a nice place to stay.
I've been staying here since 2003 with friends, family and colleagues. It's a great place to stay in Munich. Well located for the Paulaner Brewery, local restaurants, english cinema, german museum, the river and the city centre. Easy bus to the main U-Bahn station (number 16?). Hotel is a good standard. Clean and comfortable. Friendly and very trusting reception staff. Restaurant is good although one or two of the restaurant staff can be a bit "abrupt". It's an out dated german personality trait, I'm afraid. Rooms aren't air conditioned. Rooms at the front opposite the Church are prone to noise from the street and the church bells. The internet speed is shockingly bad unless you pay Euro 6 a day for the business rate. However, overall it's a very good hotel and I love it. Easy, comfortable and normally not very expensive.

Golden Leaf hotel, Munich, Germany
The Golden Leaf hotel is located in a nice, residential neighborhood, only about 15 min on foot away from Marienplatz and the pedestrian zone. It's actually an apartment building which has been transformed into a hotel. The hotel is def past its prime, though. It's clean but obviously needs an upgrade. If you manage to get a quiet room which is not overlooking the busy street, keep in mind that there is a Biergarten in the back yard which can be quite noisy late into the night. If you'll be coming back to your room only to sleep, then the hotel is fine. Otherwise, you may want to get a different hotel. The reception is not open 24 hours, either.
We stayed here for three nights and found it an excellent bargain. The room was clean and the staff were very pleasant.

Good location but a bit dated
Within walking distance from the city and train. Rooms were ok but dated. No air-conditioning so in summer had to sleep with windows open and tragic noise is loud. Also they have old style keys for your room so keep it safe and reception shuts at 10.30 pm.
We stayed here for three nights and were very pleased with it. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable and the hotel is pretty centrally located.

Friendly staff. No block out curtains in the room, so hard to rest during the day, especially with 3 y.o. needing a day time sleep. No kettle and tea/coffee facility in the room. Good location.
This hotel was great for the centre of Munich and we walked or took the regular bus. Believe it was near the U Bahn but didn't use it.
Would recommend it as was more traditional than corporate and had a traditional restaurant downstairs. Rooms very cosy with comfortable beds. The staff were friendly and free tea and coffee were provided in the foyer.
Would stay there again!
The hotel was a good price for a great location. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was good.
The place did look a bit old. The temperature control in the room was definitely lacking. I was either way too hot or cold. Not much in the way of TV for an American visitor that does not speak German.
Everything went well at this hotel. It is a bit far (walking) from the main areas but it is conveniently located near bus stops and the subway so it wasn't hard to get around.

No AC . Hard beds. Very loud area.
Having to have the windows open in order to barely make it tolerable to sleep is made worse by a very loud and active street below.

Nice Area
We had stayed at Golden Leaf in 2011, so we decided to stay there again - 2 couples/ 2 rooms. Nice location in a very nice residential area of Munich, about a 30 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride to the main square. Buses run very frequently just 2 doors down from the hotel. Rooms were clean, but lacked attention to detail as I recalled in past trip. Both of our rooms had 2 lights not working, which made the rooms dim. We asked at the front desk to have new light bulbs installed, but our requests were never answered, even after 3 days. The weather was unseasonably hot and there is no air conditioning, but we were provided with fans. Front desk staff were pleasant, but might not understand English real well. On 2 occasions the staff misunderstood day/time of taxi pick-ups.

Nice but basic hotel in walking distance to centre
The hotel is clean, staff are helpful and there is a great bar/restaurant attached with a lovely beer garden. Rooms were clean and perfectly fine for our short one-night stay and the price was perfect. One major issue is that our room was on the front side of the hotel. There was a really busy and noisy road outside of our window meaning that we slept very, very badly. I would recommend asking to stay in a room on the other side of the hotel. If we had, I would have given it a much better rating.
The lady at check in was so helpful and nice. We parked the car in their garage and just used the bus, rather than sit in Munich traffic jams. Bus stop was very close.
Nice position 20 mins walk from the middle of the city but on a lovely square with a huge church. Outlook ideal. However, curtains were nominal and let so much light it you have dawn as your alarm clock and missing basics like an iron, they expect you to do it through the hotel laundry.
Very helpful staff, clean and well maintained but quite basic and old fashioned.

Caution! Room keys are the same for several rooms!
We accidentally went into the wrong room and our key (metal, not card) opened it and the other room we tried! Do not leave valuables in the room! Only half a mile from Paulaner though so a quick walk after Octoberfest or Starkbierfest. Room amenities were standard for Europe (no air conditioning), beds were clean, and the staff was friendly.
This is a very nice hotel located just 10 mins walk from the city centre with good bus connections. The no. 62 stops right in front of the hotel. This is a very good alternative for a expensive city centre hotel. The staff are very helpful and rooms are great too. Very good value for money!!!
