I have stayed in Locke hotels before, and I appreciate being able to make myself at home. After so much traveling and eating out, it's nice to be able to cook and make tea for oneself. My room was well appointed, but it wasn't perfectly clean. The bedding and towels were clean, but there was a lot of dust under the bed and I found a candy wrapper stuffed behind the couch and another one under the TV. I had hoped to be able to use the laundry facility, but I think they need to change the rules. Each time I went down, there was nobody in the laundry room and yet every machine was running and there were piles of wet clothes. I don't know if these are clothes other people took out of the wash to put their own in--but whatever was happening I was unable to use the laundry during my entire stay. The neighborhood was also a bit random. I could easily walk to the metro station and grocery store, which was convenient, but it wasn't the type of neighborhood where I wanted to walk alone at night. There were always a bunch of men lining up outside all the shops smoking and drinking. Most of Munich's most famous sites are a 20 minute walk away. I recommend this hotel if you want the convenience of the kitchen and are willing to sacrifice not being in the perfect location.

Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and modern rooms. The area itself felt a little bit seedy but a short walk will get you into old town where you can experience the best of Munich. However being close by to the station was very convenient.

We stayed at the property for four nights and had a great time. Room was clean, kitchen facilities and had a balcony. Good location near to Theresienwiese underground which connects to main train lines but bars and food in easy walking distance.

Beautiful room with a lovely bed and sofa area, full working kitchen with dishwasher and all amenities necessary to cook a good meal. Best shower ever, lovely clean bathroom and a pleasant balcony area (€40 extra.) On the brilliant Landwehrstraße with the delicious Mauerer bakery at one end with well-priced pretzel sandwiches. Easy to find due to St Paul'ls cathedral at the other end right by Schwan Locke. Easy access via Theresienwiese U-bahn (metro station.)

We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed the location—lots of great restaurants and shopping nearby. There was an issue with the handwashing sink not working properly. Management was responsive and tried to fix it the next day, but unfortunately it couldn’t be resolved in our timeframe. They offered to move us to another room or give us a 10% refund, which we felt was a fair solution. Overall, a good stay with helpful staff.

Functional, funky and sustainable apartment

Pros: - very friendly and helpful staff - funky design and very functional with tv, couch area, balcony and table, oven and microwave in the kitchen - LOVED the sustainability credentials - entire building in Munich ran on renewable energy AND provided EV charging stations for a fully green experience, had energy efficient lighting, water conservation and recycling. As a traveller that prioritises sustainability and a sustainability consultant I was very impressed. - this is so minor but has bothered me in the past: the little light on the oven has kept me awake in other hotels before and the team had a little sticker put over it which I thought was super thoughtful and shows they genuinely care about a good sleep experience. But more on that below. Cons: - (as was common across Germany) the bed and pillows were hard, uncomfortable and unsupportive. Germany - get your act together on bedding! I’d recommend SL invest in some premium pillows and mattress toppers with memory foam or bamboo as cheap alternatives to upgrading the whole bed. Quality bedding is so essential for travellers - especially ones working remotely! - location: I didn’t love the location. It was helpful to be 10-15 mins walk to the central station for day trips but the area doesn’t have much going for it. Not particularly aesthetically appealing / historic and a bit dingey. That said if the bedding was upgraded I would stay here again.

The hotel and our room were very clean. The room has good kitchen appliances and utensils. The hotel is located just a 10 minute walk from the train station and just 15 minutes from old town. We stayed for 12 nights and we would definitely stay again.
