Great value for money
Excellent old school hotel. Fully refurbished on the inside with a wonderful, huge open lobby space. The outside facilities need a bit of a paint job maybe (also the inside roof), but otherwise, a great place to stay. Breakfast is very nice, there is a great lap pool in addition to a normal pool, an excellent fully equipped gym (one of the best I've seen in hotels), and some nice dining options.

Property was very clean. Room was spacious and staff was accommodating. Access to the public beach from the pool grounds and close to the opera house. Breakfast was just so-so. They were short on seating, plates, glasses, and always out of drinks. Both mornings we had nothing to drink at breakfast. Only one morning we managed to get a coffee.

A pleasurable place to stay
Other than the slowness of checkin and no coffee during the wait was a very pleasurable stay. The hotel is as ugly as can be from the outside but works very well inside. The staff are excellent and the rooms are good. The balconies are more narrow than one would like but on request some small chairs were placed. The Club area has good food and drink albeit that the furnishings are sparse. A good pool and direct access to the beach. Breakfast is very good. Downside is noise niusance from the W hotel next door. to 01:30 on a Friday night.

Sustainability effort in the right direction
It was so nice to find refillable glass bottles with water for the room in the minibar. I appreciate this effort as it is far more sustainable than giving plastic water bottles! The staff were all extremely helpful, kind and friendly. The hotel is neat, clean and very well maintained. We enjoyed our stay and will return in future!
