When in Myrtle we usually stay at the grande Dunes Marriott and stayed there in June and were happy with our visit. The standard they advertise was what I received. However this past visit my husband & I decided to stay at the Grande Dunes Marina Inn and were shocked at state of the hotel, the over all ambiance of the hotel & demeanor of hotel staff. The hotel needs updating. The 2 bedroom condo had broken picture frames, chips in walls, and a constant loud screeching that sounded like belts slipping on the ac units on roof that repeated about every 30 minutes. The paint, and walls were faded. Furniture was worn and dated. The reason we chose Marina Inn was to see if we would offer on a 2 bedroom condo. We asked to speak with the person in charge of HOA with some questions and concerns and a woman came to speak to us who rude and shockingly disinterested in safety of guests. And then said she wasn’t with HOA but the management firm for owners and for some odd reason told us if there is a fire in the building they would not check on guests in condos by self managed owners. To be clear my husband asked her twice to explain and she said if owners self manage and you rent through them instead of the Grande Dunes management they were under NO obligation to make sure in the event of an emergency these guests were safe. It was clear the Marina Inn does not care for their owners or guests. I could continue but am limited to 1500 characters. We left appalled.

We had a wonderful time, resort was beautiful and had lots of amenities, private beach was great, staff was super friendly! Only complaint was bleach was poured in hallway or elevator (without signs) bleaching the bottom of my pants. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.

The rooms are clean and big with a balcony. Shuttle service was nice to get to the beach and they provided chairs with umbrellas so we didn’t have to bring anything and it was free! I would definitely come back.

The Place to Be
My husband and I were celebrating our 7th year anniversary and my 51st birthday. As we were checking in, it was discovered we were on a lower level floor but due to our previous experience we knew and requested not to be. With the room in which we reserved not being available on a higher level floor our room was upgraded. A bottle of Chamomile was delivered to our room and the next day a slice of chocolate cake was delivered. Joseph, Matthew, Nick, Thomas and Julie @ Reflections provided premier customer service. The lunch and adult beverages from Reflections were on point. The time spent by the poolside was pleasant. The grounds weee well maintained. This was a great stay! Marina Inn is our new go to when visiting MB.

We have stayed here numerous time and always enjoy our visit. Everything is clean, comfortable and welcoming. A few issues this time: the cabana was only open two of our six days; the beach restrooms were not open every day; housekeeping did not service our room daily, despite the fact that we we left the room for the beach by 9:00 am daily and did not return until midafternoon. Apparently, we were also entitled to a room upgrade which was not offered. None of these things would keep us from returning, just wanted to point out things to address that would have made the experience even better.

Terrible Valet. Where are the luggage trolleys?
Enjoyed amenities & room. Upfront valet service treats you terrible unless you have a flashy car or look a certain way. We are a young couple with a 19 month old. As I was checking in my husband waited outside for me. I came out & more people came to check-in that’s fine. We asked the valet where the luggage trolleys were located, we were told they are locked up & we must be serviced. They only have four luggage trolleys available at all times. Alright that’s fine. No one but the person they called from inside for help came to ask us if we needed anything after first encounter. After 30 minutes of waiting with our luggage on the ground in front of the valet desk. It was at that point we were running late for dinner with family in the area. We decided to do multiple trips up to our room ourselves. I told the one guy we had been waiting & he pushed valet parking on me way too much. I am able bodied & can do much myself but they should have trolleys for people who don’t want help to their room. Even offered to park my car with my daughter asleep inside. Made me very uncomfortable as I did not know them but I said no several times & said we can park and carry our stuff ourselves. The redeeming qualities of the hotel are the staff at check-in, amenities & their ability to be flexible with early check-in & late check-out. Highly recommend this hotel. I do not recommend their valet. As a previous service industry employee it’s a shame to be treated badly based on looks.

One night stay while in Myrtle for moving my daughter into her dorm at nearby CCU. The 6th floor balcony room was clean and in good condition with a nice view of the Marina. Steakhouse right next door is super convenient. Overall great stay.

The only person that I can give 10 stars to is the lady from room service. She was kind and helpful. While the hotel front desk person lied and acted is if they didn’t know their jobs. The bathroom was unclean hair in the sink and tub. My bed was wet and had a strong smell of bleach. The front desk sent security guards to bring me bedding from the wrong size bed. And told me to change the bedding. Because security guard doesn’t get paid to do that. I was offered another room. Then security told me it’s easier for me to change the bedding than for him to move us. The next morning we was told we would be up graded in room for the previous day. Instead we was downgraded to a room that had more issues. A slow drain in the shower and sink. Mold around the shower inside and out. I paid too much money to have all these problems with the hotel.

Overall... Excellent stay! Stay and overall place is amazing! The only reason I would not give this a 10/10 is because the place has signs of wear. Did not take away from our stay; but, could be seen around the premises. Would definitely stay here again! Stay is amazing and we really wanted to stay longer!

Almost perfect
Very nice property with excellent service. We did have an issue with hot water and A/C , we were upgraded from a suite to the 2 bedroom suite which was very nice inside but the outside hallway in desperate need for cleaning and painting. We would definitely stay again
