Property was a bargain for what it offered. Toilet was broken and would not flush without putting the flapper down manually. Beds were very firm but not necessarily uncomfortable. Housekeeping staff seemed to be friendly and hardworking. Property seemed dated and your typical sea side hotel that struggles with maintaining the sand and water soaked carpets from high volume of guests.
Staff at check in were unhelpful and would not let me insert the apple card I reserved the reservation on into their machine for the deposit. They told me the card had to have a number visible on it. Anyone familiar with new debit/credit cards should know that a printed or embossed number are not on some of these new cards and they rely on the chip and the virtual number through the account. Despite having used this same card to reserve this hotel and having used this same card on dozens of hotels and overseas, I was at a loss. I was forced to use another card I thankfully brought with me. Upon presentation of this new card, they didn’t even check to see if it had a visible number on it and let me insert it into the machine so the chip could be read (you know the very thing the Apple/mastercard could have done). The experience soured the whole experience for me really. Petty of me perhaps to get upset by such a ridiculous thing but the coldness and lack of understanding from the staff on this issue of technology ignorance really made me to never want to consider this place again.
