Clean hotel on the beach

There wasn't a good sign for check in so we had to ask, but it was fine. Check in was a little hectic, but it was right about 4pm (normal check in time), so there was a long time, but they moved everyone through pretty quickly. The Ellie is definitely an older hotel (it's the old Springmaid resort), but they have done a good job of updating it where they can. The rooms are updated and clean (no bugs), the bed was soft, and the shower had great water pressure. The elevators are slow, and the parking deck poles made me nervous to park there, so we just parked outside (I was afraid I would hit them trying to park). We didn't venture over to the DoubleTree, but it was nice to know that we could use their pools as well. Just be sure to wear your wristband! I didn't realize exactly how far down the beach we were when we booked, so we had to travel about 30 minutes (or more) to get anywhere that we wanted to be-Barefoot, Broadway, etc but that's on me. We were basically across the street from the airport, so expect to see and hear planes arriving and taking off, as well as the helicoptor tours going every 5 minutes. If you're going to be at the hotel during the day, that can get annoying. It was very nice being able to walk out right onto the beach from the pier. Bottom line- its a clean hotel, right on the beach.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. It could have been cleaner around the property (windows and walkways) and our room had ice cream left in the refrigerator. The stopper was hanging off and eventually fall off. All of this didn’t take away from the enjoyment of the Ellie.

Nice pool at the Ellie, but water was cold. Great proximity to Pier & plus that pass and poles were included. Rooms were nice. Beach area didn't have umbrellas for rent.

Property was good for its age. The pool areas were great. The rooms were very clean. Beds were comfortable. Putt putt course across the street needs to be cleaned up and more lighting. Right on the Ocean and Beach was great. Mosquitos were awful after dark due to standing water at the Putt Putt course.

Great place for couples or families.

Great resort. The room was nice and provided plenty of room. Nice property, very convenient to reach the beach. Water slides are a lot of fun and this is a good peeve to take your family. I would stay here again. Work with the national pancake house on a coupon or something.

No rest for the weary during peak season

Hilton never disappoints on in-room comfort. This particular one is right on the path of planes landing. It looks like the loud planes will land in the pool. It’s also in a tourist trap and the helicopter rides are one after another and as loud as can be. If you want quiet and relaxing, I wouldn’t recommend but at night it’s very quiet. You will wake up to loud music at the pool during peak season. I have been there off peak and it’s very nice
