This is a beautiful hotel. Our bed was really nice (not too firm, not too soft). The glass shower doors both slide, but there’s a wide space between them and no matter which way we placed them, water would spray out on the bathroom floor. We can’t speak to the quality of the breakfast because we chose to take our Pop Tarts rather than purchase their breakfast. There was complimentary coffee, though.

The staff is very friendly & helpful. The gentleman working breakfast alone was so accommodating to all the last minute diners and other guests that were asking him for things. He did a great job. The eggs and potatoes were excellent. We loved that the hotel is pet friendly and has a dedicated lawn for the animals. Also there are nice little areas to sit outside.

The room was nice, clean, & comfortable. The pool area was nice, though the “heated” pool was rather chilly. But overall a nice hotel to stay at for our vacation.

Wait until construction is finished before staying

This is our 3rd trip to Mystic and we like to stay at this hotel for the location. We didn’t know it was under construction until I received the confirmation booking. I know Hilton did their best not to inconvenience guests but it was not a relaxing stay. The water pressure in our shower was poor. We did report it, the maintenance man was friendly but couldn’t resolve the problem. It’s obvious he is overwhelmed as he expressed frustration with so many problems. He was going to file a report but this didn’t do us any good. The pool was way too cold for an indoor pool. Several guests got in and out immediately, so did my husband. It was not relaxing or comfortable. Workmen were frequently in the pool area working.

I love a Hilton Garden Inn - but make sure they are finished with the renovation before staying here. They say the rooms are completed - but that is not true. The front desk staff has not been trained properly - all they want to do is blame Expedia, and when the fire alarm went off because "construction worker was smoking in the stairwell" (or so we were told, the fire department never showed up - even though everyone had evacuated. Front desk said "we do not know why the fire department did not show up." MANAGEMENT - do a better job please training your staff and consider closing for a week to finish and stop prioritizing quantity over quality.

Horrible experience

Horrible, pool wasnt working. I called to see if the pool was open and was told it was. They were doing some renovations but when I called the day before I was told it was only the front lobby and wasnt going to interfere with our stay. Only to check in and rooms were still being worked on, pool didnt work, restaurant wasnt open for dining only in room. If i had known all of this when i called i would have canceled and booked another hotel. Very disappointing!!

We enjoyed our stay with one or two hiccups. The hotel was being renovated, and we were not aware of it. The rooms were beautiful, but we had no soap or toiletries in our room. None in the shower either. There were no cups to use to take pills or rinse your mouth after brushing. The food in the restaurant was very good, and service excellent. Coffee was hot ad fresh. The bar was small but very nice, and the outside fire pit was really nice in the evening. Would recommend, great location too.

This hotel is currently going through a major renovation throughout the building. As the renovation is clearly improving the hotel, I personally had no issue with it. But many people have issues with renovations during their stay. I honored my original reservation because the hotel immediately sent me e-mail informing me about the renovation during my stay.
