The staff was super accommodating and friendly. The room was spacious and had a refrigerator, microwave, and tiny coffee maker. The manager (owner?) told us that they would be doing a complete renovation, probably next year, which explains a few things. The bathtub had a bit of mold, and the floor was creaky when you stepped into the tub. The outside of the building had a lot of weeds and overgrowth. Also, they don't make up the room every day unless you ask. However, the swimming pool was spotless, if just a bit cool (we got used to it). It was very convenient to have the Mystic Diner right next door.

This was 1 nite stay for a family visit. Ive stayed here before but usually on the 1st floor. This time it was the 2nd floor with parking all the way in the back. Entrance was well lit at night. Halls were clean but worn. Rugs were stained. My room and bathroom were clean. Location is perfect right off 95, across from Mystic Village and Aquarium and about a 5 min drive to Seaport. A basic hotel and not bad for the money

Unfortunately the pictures online make this place look bright, inviting, and pretty. It’s really not. It’s slightly updated with decor in the rooms but it just looked and felt dirty. Bathroom and shower was not very clean, refrigerator in the room did not work. The outside is very run down and not well kept. The area around of course is great so we just made do for the one night. Our balcony was in poor shape and overlooked the dumpster of the back of the diner with over grown weeds and grass.

Don’t stay here. I never write a poor review but this property is run down and in need of a face lift. The hallways were musty smelling and that continued into the room. Once in the room, I opened the fridge which was not cold and the inside was dirty. The coffee maker was broken and on a high shelf so I’m not sure how a short person would get water into it. Thankfully the bed was clean. I contemplated sleeping in my car because the smell was so bad. An update to this hotel is needed because it is in a great location.

I've stayed at this Howard Johnson's before, so I'm a happy repeat customer. It's a nice property just minutes away from downtown Mystic. Staff is great, amenities are great, no complaints about anything. The pool is a nice bonus.

There needs to be a new roof there was bushes growing out of it Carpet was visibly stained and dirty Pool has so much chlorine in it we could not stay in the pool area long No free breakfast

Mixed Feelings
During my recent stay at this hotel, I had a few mixed feelings. We had a pleasant greeting at check-in, and the front desk person was very nice and cordial, which was a great start. On the flip side, the hotel itself desperately needs an update. There were plenty of spiderwebs by the balcony lights, the light covers were stained, and the curtains were burnt. It’s clear the place has seen better days and needs some serious maintenance. That said, the hotel does have potential. Its location is great, and the service is excellent. With some much-needed renovations, this place could really be something special.
